Used this little guy about 20+ trips already and I have been loving it. It was originally just going to be my back up rod, but it is so convenient I keep it in my truck at all times and now it’s the only rod i use. I threw 6lbs spiderwire on it and I can feel everything my lure is doing in the water. Also, feel every little nibble, bite, and I know exactly when the fish is on. Pulled in a couple 1.5-2 pounders on this set up and the fight is just fun. Even that occasional angry runner bluegill makes you feel like you’re reeling in a big ol slab. Super durable so far. I let it roll around the truck bed, pull up to a random spot on the side of the road, drop the line in the water, and have literally had zero issues (knock on wood). Easily landed 100+ fishing ranging from 1/2” guppy to 16” bass and this rig just keeps on working. As I said, I love this thing. ... show more

I bought this set up in 2019. I've used it numerous times over the years and it has held up very well. Still working as it did when I purchased it. I only use it in freshwater as it probably wouldn't hold up to salt exposer. I've caught lots of bass, panfish, gars, etc. You gotta remember that this isn't a penn or Shimano so don't rough it up or throw it in the sand/dirt. I used this rod to catch some hefty porgies and the rod was withstanding up to 6lbs though the tip was bending like a rainbow. Overall the rod is very good and great for me as i like to travel light. But the reel is not that good as i was reeling in the fish i noticed that the handle was secured with magnets to keep the reel from folding. So as i was reeling in the fish the handle kept folding and as you could imagine that was a pain to deal with literally every time i caught a fish. ... show more

So, its pretty, and light and all that jazz- BUT you will need to reline it. The string didn't hold up to catfishing at all, and we weren't taking on River monsters or anything here..we also had a ring break but other than that, once we got it restrung it worked out great. I did get it on sale so the price wasnt bad at all. If you are taking on smaller fish like brim or perch this string is fine. ... show more

We bought two of these as my wife and I enjoy fishing and they are great to just leave in the vehicle for times we get the urge to fish without too much planning. The poles are sturdy and have held up well. We bought the first set over a year ago and just recently bought a second set for our boys to use. Casting is easy and smooth. The reels are solid and have a sturdy feel to them. With all telescoping rods, you need to be careful extending/retracting them as that is the time they are most likely to have issues.
