  • Works right out of the box
This is my 2nd dock from pluggable - the first one was a smaller version. Since I had the driver already loaded from the first pluggable dock, this new dock worked seamlessly as soon as I plugged it in. I have tried others from other companies selling on Amazon and they just dont work as well as pluggable - this saves me a lot of pain and it really works right out of the box. Just make sure you follow the directions of setting up and they provide a cable that has to be used from the pluggable device to your Macbook. My Macbook with the M1 chip does not allow multiple windows on external terminals but pluggable has figured out how to view different windows through the installation fo their driver which enables the viewing of different windows on different terminals. This model allows 4 external terminals and I have attached two external monitors and my larger screen TV, which I had to use the display link port on the pluggable and not the HDMI - this is done to stream on TV as well if you want to - if you use HDMI ports on the pluggable that will not allow you to stream on the TV - and for that matter it wont allow streaming on my my two monitors that I have connected through HDMi ports to the pluggable dock. It's a minor inconvenience but it has to do with copyrights I assume with the streaming channels and probably Apple, once you install the driver that is required to run the pluggable dock. To hook the TV to the pluggable you will have to purchase a cable that has an HDMI outlet on one end to plug into the TV and a USB C outlet on the other end to connect into the display link pluggable connection. A great buy and a fantastic product! ... show more

  • Works great does not overheat Works great does not overheat
Although it’s a bit pricey, it functions perfectly for my MacBook Pro allowing me to plug in multiple monitors and multiple hard drives. I did a lot of research because I wanted to be able to plug in multiple monitors and this one allows you to do so. I also like the way it lays flat, which allows me to put connected items on both sides of the drive. The driver itself is always cold temperature. It does plug into the wall and is thus externally powered. ... show more

  • Most frustrating thing I've ever owned, and I installed a scanner in the early 90's.
Stopped working, ordered another because I figured it fried because it runs so hot. 2nd one not working. I'm probably doing something wrong but after 10 hours you'd figure I could get it to work. I've wasted 10 hours of my life on this POS. Going to reload the horrible app on my Imac and see if I can get this loathsome thing to work. Oh and when it did work, the extra display didn't look as good as my PC 2nd screen. It was a lower quality picture. ... show more

  • Works Fantastically (+DisplayLink)
I needed DisplayLink for another monitor on my MBP. No issues and I got another screen that is as responsive as the build in graphics cards. I use this as the single USB-C plug from my MBP to everything else. I'm use this for power, two HDMI hardware supported monitors, DisplayLink monitor and Ethernet. There are additional ports for other purposes I just simply don't have a need. I didn't care how big it would be, I have plenty of room behind my monitors on my desk. That said, this was smaller than I thought. It's got some weight but I'm amazed at how how much is packed into here There are many of these on the market that are cheaper that I tried, this little guy is a great value and just works!! You get what you pay for. Note: You must use a TB4 or higher uplink to the dock, the one in the box is this. If you do not you won't get proper sync to your other monitors and will experience flicker or monitors blinking on and off. I made this mistake and ended up buying a TB5 cable and everything went back to working. ... show more

  • Quad monitor, reliable.
I use this on a mini-pc. Actually one mini-pc at a time of ten. Drives four monitors well, a qhd, a wide double qhd, and two 4k tvs. Also drives a usb hub. Hot swaps from one pc to another fairly well. I’m happy with the performance, the price was acceptable, but it does get warm (not hot) to the touch. It is fairly compact and fits nicely in my rack. I would buy it again. ... show more

  • It works for my Windows laptop and Macbook Air (1 laptop screen and 2 external monitors)! It works for my Windows laptop and Macbook Air (1 laptop screen and 2 external monitors)!
I love this docking station! It works well with both my company laptop, a Lenovo T14s (Windows), and my personal laptop, a MacBook Air (macOS, M3 chip). - Windows: Just plug and play — I get a total of three displays (the laptop screen plus two external monitors). - macOS: To achieve the same triple-monitor setup, I installed DisplayLink by following this guide. Everything works seamlessly after that. Occasionally, DisplayLink doesn’t start automatically; when that happens, I simply unplug and replug the dock into my MacBook Air, and it works again. One thing I tried that didn’t work was connecting the two external monitors via the Thunderbolt ports (using DP cables and DP-to-USB-C adapters) instead of the HDMI ports. DisplayLink couldn’t properly detect the monitors in that setup. I’m not sure if the issue was due to the adapter I used (USB-C to DisplayPort Adapter 4K@60Hz) or if DisplayLink requires the monitors to be connected via HDMI to initialize correctly. ... show more

  • Huge CPU drain using DisplayLink
Update 06.23.25: I didn't realize it for a long time, but the DisplayLink technology that they require you to use really chugs my computer. It uses almost as much CPU power as running After Effects. That's ridiculous. Switched to a T4 from CalDigit ... more expensive, but don't need to use DisplayLink. Another bonus of not using DisplayLink is that you can watch shows on Netflix and Prime or whatever. Displaylink doesn't allow you to do that, which is stupid. It works well and immediately. I've had a Tobenone product and it was bad. Plagued with constant hiccups and blips with monitors failing and flickering. This has been very steady. I love being able to clear up space on my desktop, so this is perfect. Lots of ports for USB and USB C, which is amazing. Easy to keep those pesky ext. hard drives out of sight. The only con, and the reason I give it 4 stars is because it, like so many others, relies on DisplayLink to operate. This means you can't watch Netflix, Hulu, Apple TV or any other proprietary streaming service—something to do with copyright. But I don't understand it or like it. There has to be another way to do this so you can still watch tv on your computer while hooked up to this. Perplexing. ... show more
