Plow & Hearth exclusive - inspired by the early works of Edwin Lutyens, our bench is built from FSC-certified eucalyptus wood. Sustainable & sturdy, this garden bench is solid & without seams or visible hardware. Wood has undergone extensive finishing for a beautiful, low-maintenance product. Lutyens bench is easy to stow with a seat that folds up & locks. Eucalyptus is naturally weather-resistant, but it is recommended to store furniture in a cool/dry covered area when not in use. We ordered two of these benches. I received one as a gift and I purchased one to go with it. The one I have received as a gift was an excellent condition and we put it together with no problem. The second one however had two large intentions on the side of the box and when we opened it the bench was severely damaged and had to be replaced. They are packed well enough. However shipping was definitely the problem and apparently this is common. The directions in the box however do you kind of make it lean to the fact that this isn’t really sturdy outdoor furniture. It says things like make sure you cover it up during harsh weather it should be stored and used underneath the covered porch and not put it outside your garage door which is where mine is going. So I think their advertisement is a little shady. Otherwise we’ll see I do like the way they look. ... show more

Already stained a dark finish, love the fact that the slats on the seat area are not sitting on top like most which gives it a more polished clean expensive look. My 16 year old son put this together with relative ease and I am very pleased with this bench. Obviously, I will need to restain again later in the future as I have this bench outside but I don't regret this purchase for a minute. ... show more

Love the design of this bench and it was easy to put it together but the entire back has cracks on the front and back. See pictures for a better look. The box was not damaged or dented and this was the only piece that was cracked. I first thought it was just some cracked paint as there are a few areas that the paint is chipped and I would have just touched it up but then I realized the word is cracked on both sides. Hopefully, we can get a replacement because it is a beautiful bench. BTW, shipping was quick - ordered this on Friday and it arrived Sunday, ... show more

This was a home run for us...these are made so extremely well and were so simple to assembled what little we had to assemble and we purchased 2 and have them under our 2 windows on our front porch and have received so many compliments on them from our neighbors.
