  • Much quieter than magnetic flaps!
Size: Medium
Pros: Makes so little noise compared to doors with magnetized flaps. Dog learned to use very quickly. Looks nice. Well-made. Durable frame and doors. Cons: Hefty price tag!! Took better part of the day to install (by husband who is knowledgeable and handy with projects like this) Our Plexidor was installed in a wall leading from house interior into our garage. The Medium sized door works ideally for our 18”H (height at shoulders, not top of head) 32# Australian Cattle Dog. Note: When our daughter’s 24”H, 49# ACD visits, he too can fit through this door; but I would definitely recommend the Large Plexidor for a dog his size if needed for regular, daily use. ... show more

  • Doesn't last as long as hoped.
Size: Large (Pack of 1)
Purchased this in 2018. My contractor installed it in my home in December 2018. I got my pups in April 2019. They learned to use the door fast, and at first it was a dream. It hardly ever made a noise. The dogs could move with ease. And best of all I could lock it! It's now October 2021--a little over two years--and the Arizona weather+continuous use by two active dogs has taken its toll. The panel doors don't seal all that well anymore and try as I might, dust just keeps filling up the springs. And now, worst of all, the locking mechanism broke when one of my dogs decided to try to go out of the door while it was locked (see photo). Fortunately disaster was averted for my pup (she made it through the doors, and I was home to let her back inside through the regular door) but I had to spend half the night trying to get the piece of the locking mechanism out of the door so that it's still usable--which was made difficult by my currently broken foot (it's just me, so, unless I wanted to have no dog door at all, during a time when I'm not capable of driving...well, it's no good). It's not the doors fault per-se, but yeesh it really feels like it broke during my hour of need. Folks told me this door will last you 5 years or more. It's why I purchased it. But it looks like 2-3 is closer to the mark before you have to start purchasing replacement parts. ... show more

  • Absolutley not recommended for Stucco Exteriors!
Size: Large (Pack of 1)
I'm ready to write my review, after allowing myself to calm down. Not too many things get me. The installation of this door did. I absolutely do not recommend this for anyone with a stucco exterior. DIY, Handyman, Professional Contractor...it doesn't matter. This is a challenging install. No instructions or videos will make this easier. It will NEVER look like the video install. In fact, if you're lucky, it will sustain very few scratches and dings and dents after your install. I consider my install as-good-as-its-gonna-get. The door is great with one caveat - my dogs are scared crazy of it. I'm hoping the "up to five days" training will help, but its just something that's going to take timid dogs - a husky and spaniel a lot of time to get over. The issue I have with this item is the outside frame and the pass through. The outside frame is not suitable for stucco. It will be uneven no matter what. The pass through, IMHO, is a joke. It could have been constructed of ANYTHING else that is easier to work with. It doesn't look great and I've tried going through it and still get scuffed up on my arms. That isn't the issue though - it could have been made with ANYTHING easier to work with. Make it out of plastic that is trimmable. Seriously...anything! Not aluminum. It doesn't matter if your kit comes with a blade. It doesn't matter if you call tech support - they aren't installing it for you. I broke several screws attempting to tighten the frame side (again, due to the stucco). The drill bit also broke. I sugg. a redesign of the pass through, and sell according to install type with the right items needed. Personally, I've never been a fan of cement screws. Had I known that the outside frame would be handicapped by the stucco exterior, I would not have purchased this item. Not worth the cost and aggravation, IMO. Good luck, if you decide to purchase it. Just be ready. Ask for a copy of the install, so you can see really how challenging the install is. The video makes it look like the install is a cake-walk. Use that as direction, but take it with a grain of salt. I watched the video about ten times, and it still didn't help with the conditions that just come up while you try to install. ... show more

  • Not a good quality doors
Size: Medium
The door does not close properly most of the time. The doors do not meet together as they should and I have to adjust them myself which is irritating. Also makes me worry that when I’m not home something my slip in as a spider or a scorpion.

  • Dog door just OK
Size: Medium
This was recommended to me by a previous owner. However, I am not that impressed , for the cost of this door. Took an entire weekend to install through outside brick. The plastic door operates well but would be better if dogs couldn't see through and bark at everything that moves. It also isn't as air tight as I was hoping. The key to lock the doors is a pain. A small slide lock would have been much better as we lock this every nite. The metal guard for complete closure is also a nuisance. It should have been made to slide down rather than having to mess with screws. For $500, some improved engineering is needed. ... show more

  • Yes-you may be able to do this yourself
Size: Medium
Am satisfied. If you read the directions and watch the video several times, are good at working wood and metal, have tools and a great sense of adventure you too should be able to do a self-install as I did. Think of the project in three distinct stages: inside wall, outside wall and tunnel. I have allowed three weeks for the job. Just be prepared for the surprises inside your own walls that aren't covered in the literature. In my case, the presence of a 4" metal tile layer under the ceramic tile layer (which was on plywood, not sheetrock) and the double sheathing counted as the surprise on the inside. Outside, the surprise was the dawning and eventual figuring out how to cut the cedar shake siding so that the frame would be recessed and not hang out away from the wall. I jumped a step (don't do this) and now will have to take apart my tunnel - another 4 hours and it will be a wrap. ... show more

  • Very disappointed.
Size: Extra Large
$960 dog door. No screws to mount. No template for cutting or drilling. No key for the lock. The packaging was very good. Unbelievable cost for no more than I received. I would not recommend this door.
