I bought this at Christmas, and had it installed by a plumber. My daughter and son-in-law bought the fireplace screen that I picked out. I’m totally in love with it. The way the logs are made, the height of the flames and the burning embers are excellent. I did order another package of lava rocks because there weren’t enough to cover my fireplace floor. I sit and just stare at it. It puts off some heat but not as much as real wood, but then again, there’s No mess to clean up either! I’m also allergic to the different woods and the smoke from real wood always gives me Asthma so this is perfect! ... show more

The media could not be loaded. Setup was super easy. Looks amazing! Been going for several hours now and still smells funny. Properly vented. Hoping that goes away eventually, will update to 5 star if it does.

Exactly as described. A little taller than expected, but fits the fireplace beautifully. Plenty of "accessory" tray filler and lava rocks included for my fireplace, others have written that they felt there wasn't enough. For mine, the kit had enough and some to spare.

easy to install and looks very realistic. Only issue I had was one log was broken in the box upon arrival. However, Amazon took care of us and we got the replacement log set.

    • Great insert, looks wonderful, but missing item.
I'm giving this four stars because we love our new insert and it works great. The only thing is we were missing the bag of vermiculite that was supposed to be included in the box. Rather than call the company and try to get a bag, my husband was able to find it locally and for only about $6 or $7. Since it was so cheap we just bought the bag. I definitely recommend opening the box right away and checking for everything first. Other than that we are very happy. Looks great and we can't wait to use it during the holidays. ... show more

The log set produced a chemical smell while lit. The logs don’t look real compared to other sets I’ve seen.

The media could not be loaded. As others said the provided gas line is very short. I had to move the burned to the left side.... the holes to secure did not line up. With a little thought I made it work. Overall very happy for the price. Actually just what I wanted.
