I got the PS4 as a Christmas gift for my boyfriend (now husband) and he absolutely loved it. He got several hours of gameplay out of it. The system is still in great condition 7 years later but doesn’t get used as much now because we have since upgraded to the newer PS5 console. We will continue to buy PlayStation consoles because we use it not only for my husband’s gaming but also streaming (I.e., Netflix, Hulu, etc.). The storage and memory capacity is exceptional especially in comparison to consoles like the Nintendo Switch which has significantly less available memory space. Also the PS4 continues to operate at the same speed as when we first bought the device.

After reading the reviews for this console -mostly negative- I admit I had my reservations. There was no tracking information and I was concerned about the ETA. Would it come before the debut of the game I pre-ordered? There was also some concern about would it be the right product. But it eventually came. It did take longer for it to arrive. While it doesn't come with a book, all the equipment was there (the console, the controller, the cords). HELPFUL TIP: You WILL need to purchase a controller charger. Because the charge will probably only last you 2 days if that. Other than that everything worked as it should. The setup was easy and the games installed without a problem. The layout of all the different features that came along with it and the functions of it and the controller without a book to guide me took a minute to get use to as the last PS I had was a 2. WORLDS DIFFERENT! Some of the things that I was used to being there weren't so I had to Google. But this was a good price and it actually came. When I tried to order a PS4 on Ebay it was a discouraging experience because it keep giving the message the seller's information was compromised. So I'm pleased with the console thus far!

This PS4 was for my son on Christmas and tho a bit pricier than some Offerup listings I wanted somewhere I could trust for a refund if needed. After researching I I saw she had great reviews and though I ordered this on Christmas day from some gift cards we received our ps on January 1st instead of the 7th. He was so hyped the packaging was great and secure and I was super happy with the quality we received. Looks brand new! No scratches at all showed no sign of being used. Every wire and controller included well packaged and also perfect quality. 5 stars thanks 👍

I'm writing this from the most unbiased perspective. I had both PS4 and XB1 but I decided to finally make the full switch to PC gaming. I also posting a similar review for the XB1. This two machines, the PS4 Slim and Xbox One S are the closest competitors we have ever had in video games. I write this on the day that God of War came out and that's my pick for one of the advantages to the PS4. The exclusives, all tastes are subjective but there are more on PS4. The series that got me to give the PS4 a try is the Yakuza series. You can't get that on XB1. You can't get Nioh on XB1 and then there's one that to me is a major statement and that's MLB The Show. I personally don't play many sports games but I used to and I hated not having a baseball game. So, I think in this generation, Sony has done better in the gaming battle. One of the thing I always do is wait until the next console comes out then I go back and buy up a bunch of games I didn't get to play. Sony will have more in that group. The machine itself is nice and compact for a current generation console. It makes zero noise or at least I never heard it. You can hook an external USB hard drive up to it to increase storage. Here's my first problem with it. I don't like the controller. A lot of people say it's improved but I don't agree. The first time I played a game I didn't realize the controller has a speaker in it and that makes no sense to me. You can turn the speaker down but why fool with putting it in there? And on top of the controller it has a light that stays on. Not just a small light but a roughly 1 inch by 3 inch light that glows. You can dim it but you can't turn it off. It also has a motion pad between the analog sticks that makes no sense to me. It comes with a HDMI, a USB to charge or connect your controller to the console and the one thing a lot of people point out is you can't watch 4K DVD movies on it. I don't watch 4K movies so I don't know much more about that part. I just know you can't. The WiFi doesn't connect as good as it should. My router is 8-9 ft from the console. There are no obstructions between the console and router. As a matter of fact, I had the XB1 on the shelf above the PS4 and was getting 58 Mbps download with the PS4 and 112 Mbps with the XB1. I mention these for a reason. There's roughly 15-20 games that I will buy over the course of a console's life. I was very intrigued by Sony's PS Now. God of War is one of my all-time favorite series, I have reviews here on Amazon of the first two God of War games and those were posted back before 2010. I wanted to play all of them again and PS Now had all of them included in your subscription but I had streaming problems. It wasn't terrible but if you've ever played God of War you know that the jumps lead to many character deaths as it is. Wait until your connection stutters when you go to jump. I did enjoy the PS Now overall. I don't know that I accept it as a backwards compatibility alternate option. If you have PS Plus and PS Now, you have over a hundred and fifty dollars in yearly subscriptions. Overall, the PS4 to me doesn't quite measure up to the XB1. It's very close and the only real difference is I'm looking at a system you can jump right into without needing subscriptions, not looking over the controller I hated, either. The advantages of having more exclusives is true but XB1 has free backward compatibility. I know a lot of gamers today ask why you want to play an old game. Simple. I don't want to spend sixty dollars every few weeks to get a new game. Plus, there are games that offer a nostalgic experience. I'll give you a couple of examples of games that fit this. Fallout 3 GotY, Fallout New Vegas, Red Dead Redemption, three of my all-time favorite games. All are backwards compatible on the XB1, all are available on PS Now but neither Fallout 3 or New Vegas has their DLC on PS Now, you can only play the vanilla games and you have to pay a hundred dollars a year. I'm still going to rate both systems the same. I think you'll do fine and be happy with either. I just believe for what I was looking for, the XB1 offered me more. I will say that PS Plus had better free games than Xbox Live Gold but again, that's subjective.

It took me an entire month to write this review, and why did it take so long, one might ask? Because the used but in great condition PS4 wasn't in very great shape. For starters, the entire consoles outer shell was visably bowed (I've included pictures to demonstrate this). I then flipped around the console only to find out that the hard drive bay cover was missing, it wasn't even included in the box (yet again pictures provided). I then looked at the backside of the console and instantly realized that it had been previously dismantled, the stickers had been removed and viable scratches where on the screws and console itself. I then powered it up, (they included the power cable, but not HDMI, a controller with no USB cable, and the console itself in the box, part's missing lol). After the console booted in to safe mode, it became apparent that the hard drive had also been replaced, since it required a USB drive to install the system OS. After going through that hassle, then updating the system OS to the most current version. I then began to experience random input lag and controller disconnects. Thinking this is a software issue, I tried basically every single option under the safe mode I could possibly think would cause the issue. I soon remembered the console had been taken apart, so I then took it apart and using an instructables teardown, I soon discovered that my console was missing the entire Bluetooth antenna. It was clearly taken apart prior, due to missing tape in spots where the Bluetooth antenna previously was. Wires that go to the mother board where also pinned and not placed back in there normal spots (I also should mention that it's missing screws inside the case, the instructables clearly has more screws than I did). The outer EM shielding was also broken and is no longer attached to the plastic rivet, meant to hold it in place permanently (images also attached). I then ended up spending all in total, $39.99 extra, getting a new hard drive hatch or cover for the back of the PS4, a salvaged PS4 slim Bluetooth antenna (probably what happened to the one I got) and tools to take it apart to repair it. On top of the amount I paid for the used system, rated at great condition lol. This is why my rating is only two stars, because I got sold a PS4 that appears to have been used for spare part's, then resold to me. I ended up paying nearly full price, plus had to invest more time in taking it apart and fixing it. In the end, it's a functional PS4 now, unfortunately the warping in the case won't be fixed anytime soon, whomever originally took it apart, broke one of the case clips, so there's really no way that I can safely fix it. I'm more disappointed that it was sold in that condition, dispite it being labeled as great condition. I am satisfied I'm able to play game's on it, however having to do all that to make it work, is pretty ridiculous.

Was shipped within a couple hours of purchasing and arrived when it was supposed to(2 or 3 day shipping), also performs as if it were brand new. However, this was sent to the wrong person. The receipt in the package had the name and address of another buyer, but it was the correct item so the other buyer and I both got what we were expecting. This is just a note for the seller, it could have led to the two of us being sent the wrong item but luckily we bought the same thing so it worked out fine. My only concern is that a random person now has my name and address, and I’m sure he/she doesn’t like that idea either. Also the PS4 controller is custom and from an unknown design/game which was a cool bonus. The controller charger cable is also a generic micro usb which is much shorter than the PS4 stock cable but besides this it still works just the same as the original. Overall very pleased with this purchase
