  • VR is amazing! UPDATE: After 6 weeks serious tracking issues
**UPDATE 2 - Sony was very quick to solve my problem. My camera was bad, I sent it in and less than a week later I had a new one. Everything back up and running great. Sony costumer service was fantastic. Easy to understand phone help, quick, responsive and best of all fixed the problem. **UPDATE: After owning the PSVR for six weeks, it had re energized my enthusiasm for gaming. It is an awesome piece of hardware. However, over the last week I've been having serious tracking issues. Not drift, but my guns go behind my head... my arms can't be seen or I have no control whatsoever. This happens about 2 or 3 minutes into games (I've played 3 or 4, all have the same problem). I have gone through countless calibrations, reboots, etc. to no avail. I will contact playstation and get back to you, based on other reviews and online message board this is NOT a widespread problem, so I'll keep the 5 stars and hope for a fix. OK, I know I sound like a fanboy hype machine.. but I didn't know what to expect from the PSVR. Now i'm here to tell you, It has more than exceeding my wildest expectations. After experiencing it, you will want to go out and tell everyone about how cool it is, but somehow it's tough to accurately describe. Same trouble here in this review. But I'll do my best by telling you among the top "experiences" in VR it's literally like being inside the game world. I.E. in the game VR Worlds (an absolute must buy with the system) you can literally smoke a cigar and blow out the smoke and see it in real time. You'll feel like you are face to face with the characters in the game.. they will seem real. Scavanger, London Heist and Ocean Decent really show off the PSVR capabilities and will leave you longing for more, much, much more. Youtube 360 videos can be breathtaking, although I haven't been able to watch any that weren't just a litte bit fuzzy (and I have a very, very good internet connection). I've watched a 3D blue ray, it's really cool, but again you take a hit in video quality.. but the 3D (no glasses needed with the PSVR) more than makes up for it. Bottom line, If you want to take your gaming to the next level.... and literally be 100% immersed in the game (experience) world. PSVR delivers at a very, very high level. My only hope is that more complete games come out for the headset. Lots and lots of shovelware showing up on the store these days. Still plenty of good stuff to keep you occupied (Resident Evil 7), Rush of Blood, Rigs, etc. If you are on the fence, let me push you off toward the side of buying this awesome unit! The more people that have one, the more great possibilities will arise! ... show more

  • Yes you should get it. It's amazing.
First time using VR. This exceeded my expectations! It really blew me away. Here's how the whole process went: -Unbox everything and tediously connect all the cables (easy, but there are a lot of wires) -Fumble around with getting the headset to fit comfortably on my head. Took a while to figure it out but I finally did. -Calibrate settings in the interface -First impression: this is pretty jaggy and ugly -Next impression: wow this is incredible No, the graphics aren't perfect but the VR experience is incredible. I was laughing and smiling the entire time. I can't wait to show it to my friends. London Heist and Scavenger's Odyssey both blew me away. Reaching out and grabbing things, thinking I can sip that cup I'm holding, trying to touch the NPC next to me, it's more realistic than I thought. This technology will only get better, and it's already worth buying. There are a lot of games available already and MANY more coming out at a fast rate. There's a lot to look forward to. With VR, games that never interested me before are suddenly way cooler, such as puzzle games. And despite the fact that most are short, they're cheap ($15-20). Also, despite the fact that I suffer migraines, I've had ZERO issues with sickness or headaches from this! Of course it will depend on the person, but I had no problems playing anything on it. The only "con" for me with this is the headset isn't as comfortable as many said it was (at least not for me, it's okay). But it's something I've "gotten used to" after finally figuring out the "sweet spot" for my head shape. Can't imagine how amazing Skyrim and Doom will be. Dream come true. ... show more

  • Awesome, but be sure to figure a couple things out...
The VR is an epic gaming experience. I've tried many virtual reality systems, and this one seems to rule them all. Better graphics, more adjustable, more variety, and more focused optics. The headset is very comfortable and adjustable; fits my 13-year-old sister and my grandpa both. The PlayStation store also has tons of affordable VR games. Also, the Worlds disk is a bonus. Of course, as with any VR set, you can't play for too long or the nausea starts to kick in, so bring some friends to switch off with! Only a couple things I took a star off for. The first headset I received had some internal damage to the optics so we had to return it; customer service was great, however, and we got it returned and another one ordered within a week. Also, the two new controllers have their own charging cord. I've found that the only way to charge your controllers is to a) plug them directly in to the console, or b) buy a charging station from Sony. The VR plus the console takes up two of the three USB ports on the actual PS4 so you've only got one left. Be sure to charge efficiently or buy a charging rack. Once you get those things figured out, the VR is stunningly entertaining; thanks Sony! Also, setup was super easy. Only took about 10 minutes max. ... show more

  • I am glad I finally purchased the VR bundle for my PS4.
I have been on the fence for quite some time if I should purchase the VR bundle for my PS4. My fear is that this technology wouldn't last long and die out. I keep seeing VR enabled games more and more, which is a great sign. I hope and pray that when Sony brings out their new console, that this will be compatible. The graphics while viewing a VR game will be a lower resolution than your TV. This is designed due to the smaller processing unit that generates the image in the goggles. I'm still very happy with the graphics. Just don't expect superb graphics. Everything was packaged very well, and it was super easy to setup. I was worried in how long the cable was between the 'processor unit' and the headset. There are 2 cables that are used to connect them both. The first set is ~5 feet, and the VR headset cable is ~2-3 feet. I have no issues playing on my couch while the processor is close to the PS4. Cable management is a bit tricky since there is more cables by the PS4, but I was fortunate enough to 'hide' them away from sight. The headset is very comfortable. It can easily be adjusted to your head, and I like the fact that it's super friendly if you wear glasses. I wear contacts, and when I have them out, I wear my glasses. While wearing my glasses, the headset is a little bit farther away from my head and lets in a bit more light. It's not bad though. I have heard horror stores with the 'other' VR goggles (Not mentioned) and with players wearing glasses. Both Move sticks are the older versions, so if you already have them, there's no reason for you to purchase this bundle. The camera has been upgraded from the older camera though. I do like the bundled game disc which gets you aclimated to the VR 'World' a bit easier. There is a bit of time that you may need to take a break and get your VR "Legs". I am still acquiring these legs, ROFL. I'm getting frustrated that I haven't been able to get them yet, but I'm not giving up. If you are like me, don't just give up. Give it time and research.. I have been using a fan blowing on my face, and drinking/sucking on Ginger candies which has helped greatly. Also, start small. Don't dive right in like myself and play RE7 from the beginning (I'm a glutton for punishment).. ;) I'm very happy with this purchase. If you are on the fence like I was, get it! I'm super happy that I made the plunge into the VR World!! ... show more

  • Very fun, but play for short sessions.
Product arrived fast and well packaged. This has been a long though about purchase because of the cost but in the end it was worth every penny. I had so much fun the first time I had ever tried it and I had always wanted to get my own, finally ordering this was an awesome feeling. I actually still mostly play the demo disc it came with the the VR worlds but I do have some other games as well, I have noticed that if I play more than 30 minutes at a time I start to get a headache for the rest of the day that just kind of lingers. VR is still amazing though, I'm glad I went for this and I look forward to trying new games in the future. ... show more

  • Pointless until better games release
Pretty cool, but many wires to the headset and tv. Time consuming to set up for each use and content isn't very good.

  • Welcome to a new way of gaming.
This has opened up a whole new world of gaming. Now, games I wouldn't normally play, in VR it's a whole new thing. I bought one for myself, and because it was so much fun, I had to send my two sons a set. I hope more people try this, then more games will happen. The reviews have issues with the quality of the headset and the resolution. I have tried all three major headsets and the image is just as good and sometimes better. It all depends on the game. Some are good some are so, so, but the experience is the thing.I also have a PS4 PRO, and my sons say there is very little difference. The games run very well. The headset is light and comfortable. The trade off of that is the semi delicate feel of the headset. Get the charging stand and that keeps it away when not using it. The stand also charges both the hand controllers and the regular controller. Very important, because the VR stuff takes up a lot of USB plugs. ... show more

  • Best way to get into VR
Bought as an xmas gift for my brother, hooked it up and ran gran tourismo sport and it was pretty good! Like the fact that you don't have to be staring directly at the TV for it to work, but the camera does have to see part of the headset I think. It's really pretty cool to look around and feel like you're there. You want to reach out with your hands and see the avatar do the same, but I didn't get to play a game that does that. I think you have to use the wands for that. Definitely more affordable than Oculus or Vive. Pretty decent experience, and it looks like it'll only get better. ... show more
