I have waited practically a month for this console to be released. Boy, was it worth the wait -- not only for the game, but also the beautiful, unique, limited edition console. Upon its announcement, the console was to be sold by ~4ish retailers (Best Buy, Gamestop, Walmart, and Amazon), which quickly sold out of their pre-orders. It makes this edition even more one-of-a-kind. Upon opening the package, you are greeted with a flimsy paper box containing the console. The box itself seemed rather cheap in quality, but the console was packaged securely within a much harder, safer, secure cardboard box. Purchasers get the typical add-ins: headset, HDMI cable, inserts, USB cable, etc. But that stuff is not what we bought it for...which is the magical red & white controller, the game (packaged as a blu-ray disc) and the console itself. The console resembles any PS4 pro, which contains 1 TB of space and doesn't depart from any original hardware design. However, the color is unique -- the top is made with a glossy finish while the bottom is matte red. I originally thought the red color would be very "loud," but it actually fits very well with the rest of the decor in my room. It makes for an excellent accent piece. The controller is also a beaut, having white buttons and analog sticks. It has the familiar Dualshock 4 feel. The game is amazing on the PS4 pro. As I'm sure you will read the reviews of the actual game, I don't need to dwell too much on this. The supersampling option on a regular 1080p TV makes everything vibrant, smooth and wonderful. I can only imagine when I link this bad boy to a newer 4K TV. The game is crisp and a slight learning curve; if you played any of the Batman: Arkham games, you will most definitely be a fan of this. Yes, it doesn't stick to the canon storyline, which may anger some diehard Marvel fans, but I deeply appreciate being able to play such a well-made game. Overall, I regret nothing and for the price of ~$425 (after tax)...you get a unique console & controller & a game. I think those additions make this bundle very worthwhile for any comic book fan! ... show more

    • Amazing console & Spectacular game!
I had been holding out on buying a console for a long time. But then I heard about Spider-Man. And I saw the themed console. And I needed something to do as I healed after training for the Chicago Marathon. This was it! Love the red console and controller. Both look fantastic. And the game itself? Phenomenal. Beautiful graphics. Wondrous sound. Smooth animations. And I love the fact that it included a code the post-game DLC, "The City That Never Sleeps." This game made me feel what I always thought being Spider-Man would feel like. From the science-based puzzles through the web swinging and fights, it is perfect. If you have a chance to get this bundle, do it! ... show more

    • The console stopped allowing the controllers to connect before 1 year had passed
My son got this for Christmas last year, he is 14, and treats it like an idol. No liquids near it, plenty of airspace, etc. Several days ago, before it had hit the one year mark, it stopped recognizing the SONY controllers (plugged in or wireless). The controllers work on the identical unit his sister has, so we know it is the unit and not the controllers or cords. We spent $579.00 at the time as they were in high demand and the bundle was discontinued. You can't reach anyone at OSNY via telephone, nor email, and the online support is a bot and has no answers at all. We have done all the trouble shooting you can possibly do, and nothing has worked. We have no options at this point other than buying a new one, and hope it never happens again. We are extremely disappointed as he has a present under the Christmas tree this year for this unit, and he won't be able to do anything with it. It is also frustrating as he has tons of content stored on the console, and he will more likely than not lose all of it, even if we magically can get a return warranty tag or get it repaired/replaced. ... show more

This review is going to be strictly based off of the Spider-Man aspect of this product and not the hardware specs, User Interface, controller, etc. First off let me say that the console is absolutely beautiful. I find myself staring at it often because its just that nice to look at. Now the game itself. WOW. Not anywhere near done with it but the game is living up to the hype. Plays like a Batman Akrham game but resembles the original Spider-Man 2 game on the PS2. But the controls and swinging mechanics make you feel like you ARE Spider-Man. It was a very satisfying purchase. Make love not console wars! ... show more

I really like the console totally amazing and soney did a great job on the gaming console. The console only does 4k picture, my mind filled in that it played 4k movies unfortunately it does not. I am very happy with how the product arrived and only a little ware on the corners and some at the top of the box (it looked like it had been opened with the seal pealed off and moved) so it makes me wonder what happened as to why someone would peal that seal off. Other than that totally awesome but I don't think I would have paid as much as I did if I had not realized it did not play 4k movies. I probably would have gotten and xbox x model. ... show more

I have played playstation since playstation one. I also play the xbox and I will say the one thing I enjoy about the ps4 is it's sleek design. Paired up with it being in a spider man bundle combining my love for games and comics is a great combo. It looks great and doesn't look poorly made. From an aesthetic point of you it executes it perfectly. The colors are bright and rich. For the console itself, it performed fine for me and I am still using it till this day. ... show more
