This thing is so fun and educational!!! You can scan items for real! It has a working calculator and it has a working scale!!! The basket of shopping items is a bit meh but who cares. You can put together items yourself. My only complaint is i wish it came with more bar code stickers or that there was an option to buy more bar code stickers. Im sure i can scan the ones provided but then getting them Printed to stickers will be a pain. I would have happily paid for an add on scanning package with a ton of extra scannable labels (along with listed price of each so i knew when assigning them to products). Also i saw some reviews mentioned getting used dirty ones. Ours arrived brand new and was clean and works great. Overall i recommend this to any family looking for a toy cash register ... show more

My 6 and 4 year old boys loved this cash register. I purchased it to go along with the Best Choice Products Pretend Play Grocery Store that I also purchased on Amazon for Christmas. The cash register from the Best Choice Store was wooden and didn’t act like a calculator. I wanted to teach my children how to count, add and subtract currency, and take/give correct currency. I replaced the wooden one with this register. It’s a fun way for them to learn. This register helps them with that and the kids love it. The cash register works well. I like that it talks when buttons are pushed and says things like plus, minus and total. The microphone works nice. However, kids have to put their mouth really close to it (almost on it) to hear themselves talk through it. The drawers to hold the cash isn’t really big so you can only put a little stack of cash and a few coins without getting it stuck. I wasn’t too bothered by this because they aren’t going to be counting hundreds of dollars at their age. It holds just enough for them to learn. There is a little key that comes with it too lock the drawer too. The toy matched the picture and description of the product. It’s made of thicker plastic and holds up well with two rough boys banging on the buttons. It’s definitely not flimsy plastic. The cash register was a decent price for all the features compared to other ones that I found on Amazon as well as other sites. I really wanted to like this. I bought this for a 5 year old. The microphone button doesn't do anything even though it looks like it should. The scanner doesn't always work. It does not add up and total the scanned items. Basically it's a large plastic calculator.
