It took me an hour and a half to assemble this however the instructions were decent and the pieces fit together nicely. I love the checkout beep and the conveyor belt but my only complaints is that the customer side of the checkout doesn’t make sound or the screen light up or anything. Love it other than that! I took off one star because mine happened to come with damage- black streaks on the white pieces and crusty food looking stuff in some of the top piece. It was weird but I waited until the night before to assemble it and couldn’t not have a present in the morning. I tried to use vinegar on the black marks as best as I could. The set is fine, it's not that pricey but not cheap either. I would buy it again if not too expensive. However, they lost a star in my review because the QR codes for a "3D assembly video" or "scan here for help" brought you to a generic search page where you can search for the printed manual (where you got the QR code itself) - and calling the number sends you to voicemail and they never call you back. ... show more

Was easy to put together. It was a gift for my 6 yr old granddaughter. My 2&3 and 8 year old grands loved playing with it too. Height of it was great for the 3 yr old (ages tall for 3). The older kids didn’t seem to mind the height at all. The scanner beeps. I think that was their favorite part! The cash register part is actual calculator. The customer side has a white screen and key pad. It do anything. I don’t know if it was supposed to or not. Either way they still loved it. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. It’s little small compared to Kidkraft Farm to Table kitchen that we have (see picture) but we plan to make it taller in the future if needed with wooden couch legs. We like the scanner so much ! With the price we actually didn’t expect much but we just discovered that we could slide a provided credit card and it made sound too! (See video) Only things we would like it to be improved was money bills and coins. They look cheap and very poor designed. The coins are made of card board and the bills are made of glossy paper which is noting like real money. (It may cut your little one hand if not be careful.) We know they are just for pretend play but Melissa and Doug’s money bills are much much better ! ... show more

Great sturdy little playset. I added legs and added on the Melissa and Doug set. While constructing it, I noticed the conveyor belt was very weak and didn't move much. I stopped assembling and ran out to get some grip tape from the local hardware. This is tape that has a sandpaper texture on it. I cut 3 thin straps as long as the dowel and applied them on the dowel which has the handle to turn. After I did that, I finished assembly. The belt will now move even big objects, because the tape grips the belt. I can't wait for the kids to see it on Christmas morning. I subtracted 1 star for the belt not working it's best. ... show more

My 10 yo daughter is obsessed with scanning at Walmart and wanted a scanner that would actually beep when you slid an item across...not just the handheld one that you squeez ..and she adores this one!! We had to have friends over to play with it the week after Christmas.

I like to assemble things, if that’s such a thing! This one you had to really pay attention to- the instructions aren’t as great as they could be! Just read a few steps ahead and you’ll be fine. Took about 45mins. Great, sturdy grocery store! My toddler is going to love it!
