I own 10 viparspectra grow lights. I’ve purchased them all a couple at a time over the past couple years and they work just as well as when I bought them. They’re everything I hoped for. I’ve only had one problem in all that time and when I emailed customer service. A woman named Ruby responded back right away and she was the one who helped me through sending back the light for repair or replacement and getting the light back. I haven’t had that kind of service with a Big company in a long time so not only do they make really great products by they stand behind them. Ordered one at the end of August. Arrived without issue and has been working great, so i decided to add another one to my tent. I've received two this week, one on Monday and one today (Wednesday) and Amazon doesn't seem to be able to get these to consumers in one piece any more. Both arrived with the same Glass lens shattered into pieces, you could even hear it moving in the box when I picked it up. Amazon is unwilling to help fix the problem in any way except with promotional codes. Again, the light itself is great for a small tent. Each bank of LEDs are dimmable, and the cooling fans while audible outside the tent, are no louder than a clip on fan also in the tent. Viparspectra customer service has been responsive when I messaged about the first light showing up broken, so I'm hoping they can manage to make this second light good and get something to me in one piece. I recommend this light for a small tent, but you may want to order it from somewhere else. ... show more

    • VIPARSPECTRA DS600 vs VA1200 600watt version seems brighter
Actual wattage on both models are DS600 265watts +/- 3% $110.49 VA1200 260watts +/- 3% $109.99 both models are the same size, both models have dimmer knobs, both models have about the same light levels with the 600watt version being a hair brighter. key difference is that the "600watt" version has a reflector tray shroud on the LEDs. I am exponentially let down as i expected this "1200w" light to be extremely and noticeably brighter. (like 2xs brighter) seems they are misrepresenting the wattage and stating this light is 1200watts with 120 10 watt LEDS while the 600watt has 120 5watt LEDS with around the same light levels, and like stated above in the beginning of this review the DS600 uses 5 more "actual watts" at 265watts compared to the VA1200 and 260 "actual watts"..     • Well built good value for a beginning indoor gardener.
So far the 1200 w lights we bought seem to be working very well. They’re well made and plenty bright for a smaller grow tent. I have 2 daisy chained in an 8’ by 4’ green house and will probably wind up adding one more. I’m very pleased with the minimal amount of heat they put off and actually have to keep a space heater in the green house to keep the temp where I want it. It has yet to be determined if the 2 we have now will have a high enough par value for a larger canopy but so far so good. ... show more

Light arrived broken. Amazon said it is a seller item so they will not help on a replacement. I contacted ViparSpctra directly because Amazon has made it IMPOSSIBLE to use messages for buyers to contat sellers! (They have removed the contact link from ALL accounts) ViparSpctra went out of their way to send me a PRE PAID packing slip so I could send back the old broken light and they sent me a BRAND NEW LIGHT! ... show more

I would give the 5 stars as it has worked very well so far, I gave it a four only because it doesn’t have a built in timer. Everything else is working and worth the investment.
