The media could not be loaded. I really wanted to test out this press and see what it could handle, and since I have heard other people in some of my crafting groups say that it is harder to get glitter vinyl to stick I thought to myself challenge accepted. The Planet Flame did a GREAT job on my glitter vinyl letters for this cute little bag. I love that there is a alarm that goes off when the timer is done. No need to worry that you will press something too long. I also like that the press is a nice and sturdy, and that it has a large working surface. I did not need that big of a surface for this project, but it is nice to know that even my largest project will fit on this press. When the timer goes off on the press, there is a high pitch noise so there is no way you can miss that time is up. One tip, if the press does not seem to want to open when you first take it out of the box, place one hand firmly on the base under the press and lift up on the handle with the other hand. ... show more

It took me months to decide on which brand and style of heat press to purchase. I was very intimidated by this one because it’s a clamshell and was worried about burning myself, but didn’t want the swing arm version because I felt that would take up more room. I’m extremely happy with this purchase now that I’ve had experience using it! It was easy to learn, and I didn’t even do a practice press, made my first shirt and it came out perfect and now I use it all the time! I made a custom koozie One morning before work, it’s that quick and simple to use, highly recommend this one and if you’re going to invest in one get the 15x15 it’s worth it! And don’t waste money on Teflon sheets, I use old pillowcases to press and they work perfect! I also have no issues with electricity surges and store mine in the garage. I have it plugged into a surge protector and when I use it the surge protector is the only thing plugged into the outlet and after each use I unplug from wall. ... show more

I ordered the PlanetFlame Industrial-Quality CE Panel Clamshell Heat Press Machine and after using it for several months now I am satisfied that it is of sufficient quality for a hobby level entry. The temp controls are digital and work fine, the heating plate when check with a laser temperature sensor heats evenly in all areas EXCEPT the edges (probably has to do with the manufacturing process and coil/element placement or design) but acceptable. This item works as described. I wouldn't recommend this item for a T-Shirt shop (spend a little more money and get a swing away or drawer type press); however, if you are just starting out or need a heat press for personal use then this press will work. ... show more

    • Be aware of scorch marks, but great product!
This has been so wonderful for my heat vinyl projects! I’ve made countless shirts and the quality is long lasting IF put on the correct heat setting! Be sure to keep the instruction manual handy each time you use it! Different heat settings for different materials. I had a HUGE problem with other shirts being stained after I would press a shirt of a vibrant color. As I researched this, I found that these were called “scorch marks.” Thankfully, many YouTube tutorials later and I found that mixing 25% water and 75% hydrogen peroxide in a spray bottle and spraying the mat after each use prevented anymore scorch marks! ... show more

I bought this to make my own vinyl shirts at home. The machine itself is pretty heavy. I think the box it was delivered in said 55 pounds. It was a tight fit into the doorway, so be careful! I read the instructions before plugging it in to use it. However, to heat it the lid must be opened.... I had the hardest time getting the lid to open! I was giving it all I had, lessened the pressure and after about 10 minutes and almost giving myself a hernia, I got it! After that it was fairly easy to use. I didn’t have any issues with opening/closing after the first initial opening. Setting the temperature was easy, the timer took me several attempts after watching the video provided on amazon I got it all figured out and it worked great! ... show more

    • Quality product ...but hard to unclamp
I love this product. I had to give it a three for ease of use due to the simple fact that if you are older, have loss of strength in your arms for any reason at all, it is difficult to release the hold once its clamps down. I get that it has to snap tight and it works great as a press. Just be warned that sometimes its hard to release. ... show more

The hardest thing for me was to figure out how to open the press. My press came pressurized or turnt all the way to to the highest pressure setting (it's a knob). If you adjust the knob slightly to the left and grab the lower platen and pull up the handle the press will release. To set the temp and time simply press the set button and either arrow for the direction of the temperature or time then hit set. This has been a good middle sized press. This heat press was an amazing price. I have Used it for months making thousand or so shirts and it has served its purpose. The heat is almost always right it does have a little less heat towards the bottom but i just readjust my pressure for larger images. I’m very satisfied with it and would love to have another one. ... show more
