I have the pl3000.2. It's a 3000-watt amp that moderately powers my dual 15in Cerwin Vegas that can eat up double what this amp provides with a CAP8 capacitor. I've installed it today, and they hit moderately well for an amp that costs around $100. I currently have mine at just over half its gain, 50hz Low pass, with zero bass boost. I had it hitting for around an hour out of the box but took it easy for the first 15 minutes to allow it to warm up. As it is an AB-type amp, it gets hot but I haven't gotten it too hot to where it would shut off. It works as intended for a product that is around 100 bucks.     • It’s not a bad amp for the price!
No issues with the amp and everything works fine. I believe most people have problems because they don’t wire the sub correctly to the amp itself and set power levels as they should be to prevent overheating issues. I live in AZ where it can reach temperatures up to 120 degrees so a word of advice is to always double and triple check your wiring. ... show more

im pushing 4 5.25 3ways and 2 3” horn tweeters and it’s really pushing about600w not 1600 like it said very unhappy

    • Overheating issues? Ooooo!, gives me the Willies.
I've just received the product and consequently have yet to install. This PL1600.4 looks impressive and looking forward to following up with performance assessment. With all the previous reviews of folks having self-protect and overheating issues, I can't help wonder if they are overtaxing the ohms or perhaps their charging system is inadequate for the draw they are imposing of ampres? Will share my results after a wisely executed and balanced install. ... show more

This thing is a powerhouse! Great for medium to lower quality installs. High-end install a will stress this thing out, it will over heat, and clips out. Very disappointed... Correction, there's was an issue created by the installer. This amp for the value, is outstanding!

    • Overheats very quickly
I have this amp running 2 JBL GTO 6.5" for the front and 2 JBL GTO 6x9's in the rear. While the sound is great without any distortion, I'm constantly having overheating problems even while running it just under half volume and 1/3 gain. It's running on 4 channels, with four 3ohm speakers and I get maybe a half hour worth of listening before it shuts off for about ten minutes to cool down. I would definitely recommend using a cooling fan. In the end however, you get what you pay for. Now I'm going to spend a lot more on a better amp. ... show more

The quality is good but you cant play your music for a long period of time. The amp will get hot, so I have to put a fan on it.
