  • A lot of the negative reviews are very misleading.
I have read a lot of reviews claiming over heating, shutting down or not being as powerful as claimed by the manufacturer. I know that at least two of the reviews I read for this amp were for a different product? I will usually rely on reviews but not for car amps. Regardless of the brand or power rating, a lot of people supposedly having the same problems as mentioned above. Here is what I know about this amp. I run it from a 100 amp 12v custom built power supply and have 4 x 8ohm 3 way speakers wired in series to channels 1 & 2 and a 15 inch dual voice coil sub woofer rated at 1200w 2ohm wired for 4ohm to bridged channels 3 & 4. I am using 8 awg power cables and 12 awg speaker cable. The amp doesn’t even get warm at a comfortable listening level. I have been running my system this way for over a year. I don’t believe build quality is so bad to justify all of the failure complaints. I couldn’t tell you if power rating is rms or pmp or whatever but I also do not think it matters. Impedance is critical so if you don’t know the difference between parallel and series wiring or what it means regarding the amp and speakers. Don’t try and fit it yourself. ... show more

  • Not bad for the price.
Been using the amp for a month now. Bought it to replace my Alpine PDX-9 for when I sell my car. Currently runninng: Alpine 149BT head unit Two channels running four 6.5" Polk MM (one pair are component speakers) in parallel. Two channels bridged to either an Infinity Kappa 12" in an unported 1cu ft box and more recently a Bazooka 10" sub. Aesthetically it looks like a nice amp and the connections are clear and easy to understand. It fits under the passenger seat of my 2013 Wrangler Unlimited. Sound-wise I'd say its OK, however, definitely more than I expected from an inexpensive amp. Low pass does not filter out all highs and my sub was clearly pumping out higher frequencies. It definitely doesn't have the oomph to move the Infinity 12", however, I never expected it to. Mid range speakers do sound pretty nice and so far I haven't noticed lower frequencies from them. No overheating issues even after over 1 hour at moderate/loud volumes. This amp did NOT come with a control knob for sub output as some have said. Not sure if there is even a connection for one. It does have a second gain control for subs on channels 3/4. I think it's a decent intro amp for someone limping into car audio or tinkering with a light budget. I don't feel it can run subs well, but it could in a pinch. Might be better to get a mono amp as well. Installing in-line filters would get rid of the unwanted frequencies. ... show more

  • Great for upgrading my 2019 Nissan Versa
I purchased this amp, as well as two full range speakers for the front doors, and woofers for the rear doors. This amp allows you to run high pass, full range, or low pass on all channels: (Channels 3-4 have a bass-boost) So I went full range on the front doors, and low pass on the rear doors. Knowing that I will not be pushing the amp that hard, I was able to connect the 12VDC to the radio power with 12GA. wire. Absolutely fantastic sound! ... show more

  • It works very well
I have it powering 2 6x9's and 2 6.5 inch kicker speakers. They sound great. No distortion. For the money i am really impressed how well this small amp does its job. No overheating issue and no high volume bass fade. Nice and clear through out the range.

  • NOT HAPPY. All wiring trimmed/taped/routed to perfectly fit this amp ...
purchased this amp, new jvc head unit, and 4 new kicker 6x8 speakers for my 2008 F150 truck. I'm very experienced with stereo installations. spent 4 hours running all the wiring. first ignition on resulted in popping and scratching noise from the LF speaker, then nothing from the LF, but all other channels working. checked LF speaker circuit, even though i knew i wired it perfectly, no problems found, except that now this brand new Kicker speaker ohms out at 2 ohms. It was 3.5 ohms out of the box. hooked the LF speaker back up, more popping/scratching, then nothing, then RF went down. Cycled the ign again, and front was completely dead, and rear channels producing some strange noise. NOT HAPPY. All wiring trimmed/taped/routed to perfectly fit this amp where it was located. Ended up having to disassemble everything i just put together, taking the amp out, and rewiring the speaker wiring for everything to run off the new head. I need to have hands free calling, and not going to wait for a replacement. So, in summary: 1-ignored the many poor reviews describing similar issues. 2-wasted an entire saturday installing, then having to uninstall everything due to this defective product. 3-this defect ruined a brand new speaker, which i now have to deal with getting a replacement. 4-having to deal with getting a refund on this product. 5-forgot to mention that the blue planet audio logo on the front didn't light up either. It's my opinion to stay away from this product. ... show more

  • Overally rated
You get what you pay for. Cons/negative; Overally rated.1200watt max? Yeah right! I was able to get 475-525 watt. Static and buzzing sound coming through the speakers. Pros/positive Had it for a year and still doing well. It does plays decent sound and tuning are understanding. I would get another one if the static and buzzing would go away. Using 4 mids range speaker (Orions Hcca 350rms and Apocalypse A67an 300rms) all are 4ohms but when wiring the pair to make an 8ohms bridging ( 62.5watt @ 8ohms x2 ) the 2 channel to prevent distortion and over working the amp. Amplifier Still make my mids pop for a cheaper route. ... show more
