I have a whole chicken roasting in it as we speak. I'm a pretty mechanically-minded guy, and putting this unit together, I was impressed with the quality. Assembly is easy with a Philips-head screwdriver. I did use some loctite on the screws, since I'll be transporting is when we're camping, and I don't want them vibrating loose. I have a large Traeger smoker/grill at the house, and this table top model will be really nice to have when using our camper. It came with a fabric cover, but not with a probe. Fortunately, I had a spare probe from my Traeger, which works with this unit. For the money, this is a value. I know that some of the smokers coming in have the all-digital controls, which are known to have some problems. I'm glad that both my Traeger, and this new unit, have the manual temperature setting knob. So, so far, this is a five star purchase for us. ... show more

setup was easy, used it a couple of times so far and it works great .. had to buy the temp probe separately for chicken , and unit seems to fluctuate a little bit in temperature (around 20 degrees) but it comes back down and stays in the neighborhood.. i pull the grill and shields off and pressure wash them after i’m done and it’s a breeze to clean that way … then i vacuum the ashes the next day … doesn’t get much easier than that … my only gripe if there is one is that the older model used to come with handles on each side so you could move it easily… this newer model does not, so I opted for a harbor freight steel cart and i just wheel it into the garage for storage … no need to pick it up .. this way i also can store the grates on the bottom shelf while they dry after cleaning … win-win! ... show more

    • Perfect Size for 4-6 People! Easy to use!

We LOVE our Pit Boss! This is the perfect size for our family of 4-6. It can fit around 6-8 pieces of meat on the bottom and there's a top tray if you need it. Value - 5 Stars, well worth the money and we don't use too many pellets due to the size being smaller. Assembly - 5 Stars easy to assemble, took about 30 minutes Temperature control - 5 Stars it's so easy to set up Customer Service - 5 Stars we had a question about the hinges so we called the number listed and they were great and went over how to start it and tip on cooking Weight - A little heavy to carry but not bad. We take it back and forth to the lake house so it's easy to transport. Need to buy one for each place! Overall this is the best grill we've ever owned including our weber and green egg. Mainly because of the ease of cooking and getting the same result. We are using the Pit Boss pellets and have been very impressed. ... show more

So disappointed with this unit / model! I have a vertical Pit-Boss Pro upright smoker and absolutely love it! Love the accuracy and consistancy for the smokes it puts on anything I put in it. Had it for 4+ years and use it regularly. I expected something simular from the Pitt-Boss Table Top Grill/Smoker M# PB150PPS. When I first ran through the prime and then the initial burn off the internal temporature kept rising and rising to to the point of causing a slight discoloration "hot spot" on the external finish of the lid exterior. When I shut the unit off I immediately took the internal temperature and it was +600 F. I might add that the temprature read on the display kept defaulting to celsius and when it did read F it never read above 180 degrees. Second time we used it we attempted to smoke and grill a tomahawk steak and the internal temperature never got above 180 F even though I had it set to 400 after an appropiate slow smoke time even though the readout said it was 350 and never went up or down. The third and last time used was a very scary situation. I have never seen a cooking device rise in temperature so quickly and If I hadn't been highly aware of potential issue based on the two previous situations we might have a disaster. Dissapointed! I have often believed Pitt-Boss rivaled the competion and proud of the American made status but...? Will try to contact Pit-Boss directly but not expecting much at this point. ... show more
