So I used this for a different purpose than probably most. Last month I lost my best friend of 18 years-My sweet dog Daphne. I couldn't bare to throw or give away her bed, or toys, etc. But also didn't want to just leave them out for my other animals or children to mess with, so I purchased this as a night stand to use next to my bed. I put her bed inside with her collar and leash laying on it surrounded by her favorite toys. I used the top to hold her box with her ashes and other mementos of her. I can't speak for escape or chew factor but it is a beautiful piece that was easy for me to put together, appears pretty durable and beautifully showcases the memories I have of her. I put this together myself, major accomplishment! It’s sturdy and quite heavyweight, so it’s perfect for my 47 lb dog. I got the 43” x 28”and I found a crate padding 36” x 24” x 3”; and she loves it. Easy to put together, the rotating bowl holder was a great idea, locks/latches are good and crate seems sturdy. Only thing I would recommend changing: Change the color of the bolts to match the color of the wood furniture OR make the bolt heads inset into the furniture and provide a bolt sticker that matches the wood color. ... show more

My initial impression while unpacking was that it is good quality and everything was packaged carefully. Instructions were clear and parts easily identifiable. Everything fit together properly aligned. I am very pleased the price of this item was very reasonable and it’s actually good quality real wood construction.     • My dog's willingly go into this kennel, which is a big change.
My dogs used to get anxiety really badly in a kennel, not sure why, but we tried this one because of the sides being closed off, we thought it would be calming. They get in this kennel just to chill sometimes. I love it. Easy to put together and cute. Love love love.
