I got the 5000 size to pair with my Berrypro Blaze 10 ft surf rod. Looks amazing with the vibrant red spool. However, the drag isn't the greatest. I was pulling up small stingrays and leopard sharks but you could really feel the reel struggling. I'm giving it a high rating because it's a top tier cheap product. It has gotten the job done so far with what I'm catching but I wouldn't be mad if it couldn't handle a 30+ pounder. I recommend if you're already looking at this price point. Just don't expect it to perform miracles. I have the size 1000 on my ultralight setup and it's perfect for panfish and trout. Haven't had the privilege of testing it on a big bass yet but I'm pretty confident it is up to the task. ... show more

I used this reel on a Berkley Cherrywood to catch Mackeral in the atlantic. It held up nicely and for the price, I didn't expect much. However, it is the fourth Piscifun reel I have bought and they have all been great.

The product is good. The problem I have is that the packaging came in a box, it came with other orders which arrived all together in a cheap plastic bag. When I opened the bag, my reel was out of the box and the box was torn to shreds. I mean literally it was in 4 pieces. Thankfully my reel wasn’t broken, however it did have some scratches and a ding on it. I’m not happy with that. I’m also not going to return it because it works fine. However, knowing how it was shipped and scratched up kinda taints the whole experience. It’s like I got a cheap piece of crap and paid top dollar. Please have the packaging people and the quality control crews do a better job at protecting peoples orders. Thanks. I’ve caught specs, redfish and unwanted hardheads on this reel so it is good. My only knock is the retrieve per turn. Looking for a better retrieve from here on out on my future reels.
