These speakers are great. The mounting depth is like 4 in. So unless you have a lot of space behind the speaker don't try putting these on a door. I actually cut the plastic grill off the door panel and screw the speaker into the mounting bracket on the door, through the door panel. It came out looking pretty clean. I put these in the front doors of a 2012 GMC Canyon ( the last year of the 1st gen Canyon) I also have these 6.5 pioneers in the front doors of a 2002 GMC Yukon. They fit alright, I had to cut some of the door out. And when the window is rolled all the way down it rubs the magnet. If I adjusted the placement it would probably clear the window. But I just don't roll the window down all the way. I was also able to fit the 8-in Pioneer Pro speakers in the back doors of The 2002 Yukon. The windows don't roll down completely in the door because of the curve at the bottom of the doors. So after cutting out a little bit of the door and some of the door panel I was able to make them fit good enough. The sound quality of the speakers is pretty impressive. They outperform some old school JL C5 component speakers that I had in the front doors of the Canyon. I like these speakers enough to have bought them three times. I like them. I bought 3.5 tweaters 2 sets of the 6.5. And a set of 8 inch big boys. With a pioneer touch screen head unit in both trucks. ... show more

Ok, let me start by saying "no" you won't get massive bass (nor mid-bass for that matter) but that's cuz they are midrange speakers it says so right on the box. But, if you set them up correctly you will get awsome sound from these speakers. I have mine running parallel with the Pioneer Pro tweeters off an Alpine amp at 100w rms and they are loud AF! They came in at 130db on my Epicenter in-dash. Now that is loud and the sound these speakers put out is clean and clear. I'm now have the loudest system on my block something I've been trying to achieve for years. These are zero cons only pros for these speakers. Cannot speak highly enough on how good clear and loud these speakers are. Went through 3 different sets of JBL's that cost 2 1/2 times as much, and while they didn't sound bad, they didn't come close to sounding like these. The do need to be matched with tweeters, and I would recommend the pioneer ts-a300tw.. highs are outstanding. Power handling is superb. ... show more

Pioneer does it again. I've been running Pioneer for decades and they do what they say on the box. As an ol' skool Bass head, these were the perfect choice to replace the worn-out factory Bose speakers in my gen 3 Slade'. They will fit in the doors with minimum fuss, and behind the factory speaker grills. They are for Mids, NOT Bass or Tweets, although you do get just a little low end. I gave it a 5 because I loved the sound quality but they were too big for the bracket I had. I love pioneer and wanted to do pioneer everything but these speakers are beefy. If you have the ability to do some modifications, you'll love them. I wish I did so I could've kept them.

Awesome mid drivers. The magnets are huge!! Didn’t think it was going to be this big from the reviews, it’s almost the size of the speakers itself and much bigger than my previous speakers. I was worried it would take adapter spacers to fit my car doors. To my dismay, they fit the rear doors perfectly. I also bought the metra door adapter so install was a breeze. Hooked up to my amp and they sound amazing. The clearity of these speakers is outstanding. I’m glad I went with these. Great product!
