The factory speakers in my 19 year old sequoia we’re definitely due to be replaced. These went in nicely. They sound great. Better than the original for sure. They’re definitely not top shelf speakers but they put out great sound nonetheless. I’m also impressed with the bass. I had low expectations for the bass notes based off other reviews. Replaced the paper cones in my RV stereo with these pioneer co axial units. I find it odd that the speaker cover / beauty ring mounts thru the speaker onto the surface, then you pop the grill back on to the beauty ring. Haven’t seen that since the 70’s

The stock speakers in my 2015 Mazda 3 were starting to sound crunch so I knew it was time for an upgrade. These are a great affordable upgrade that definitely give it a nice change in sound! Nothing extreme though if you wanted crisper high maybe look into something slightly more expensive.

    • Do your research before pairing stereo components

I read alot of reviews prior to purchasing these speakers, and i have a few things to point out. These speakers sound great when paired with the proper head unit, i am using one of pioneers cheaper dvd touch screen head units and these sound great for mids and highs. Lows are not great with these speakers but they are not made for bass, they are made for mids and highs. Many reviews with bad ratings on here dont take into account the stereo they are using and complain about poor sound and having no/low/poor volume and that is because many stock units are poorly powered @ 15 - 20 watts per channel, i suggest using 20watt pioneer speakers for stock stereos especially on older cars. These speakers are made for 40-50 watts rms you need to match rms power not max power, max power is only what the speaker will handle in short spurts. Pairing a 40 watt speaker and a head unit that pushes 15-20 watts rms will have poor peeformance and could damage the stereo in the long run by pulling to much power from the channel. ... show more
