Replaced 11 year old factory speaker and used noise dampening behind speaker as water shield with opening near bottom to allow adequate air movement by the speakers. Sounds is much better than the no sound (dead) factory speaker. I listen to the radio at a normal talking voice level and I don't crank up the volume, because I don't want to prematurely damage the speakers. Excellent for the price: sound is good for music; adequate base response - good enough for me for the price, and excellent for talk radio, because of better mid and high range. If these speakers fail in the next 3 years, I'll update my review. ... show more

I bought these to replace my stock Ford speakers, and they are an upgrade. That is also a low bar to cross. That said, they are decent for the price-which is very low. Just don't expect too much, and I think you'll be happy with these.

Very cheap feeling. BUT once installed they are very crisp sounding and clear and loud! Way better than my power acoustics brand I took out that was more expensive when I bought them. So I'm not complaining. Pioneer for the win!

I needed to replace a damaged factory speaker in my Kia Soul's driver door. These speakers, a set of adapter rings from Nulth, and a NVX silicone baffle made for the perfect fix. Went ahead and replaced the passenger door speaker so the impedance would match. The factory speakers are only 2 ohm, but these get loud enough for my purposes despite being higher. I'm not a teenager looking to rattle the windows of houses I drive by, but I do love some bass heavy electronic music. These are not only a perfect replacement, they're a slight upgrade over the factory speakers. The highs are clear and the lows thump like this car has never done before. Used these for my 2011 outback 3.6r limited. Had a blown harmony pardon front door speaker. These worked in the way of replacing a blown speaker but speaker performance is very lacking. The magnet is pretty small and could hardly hear it over the stock speakers. Will it work? Sure. Is it an upgrade? Maybe if you had no speakers.
