    • Great buy for consistent quality and durability
These aren’t all that bass heavy but they’re pretty clear for what you’re buying. The A-Series Pioneer speakers are a great buy since you can now get them at end of life pricing and get speakers that are at the top of the budget spectrum. The components are noticeably better in terms of clarity and low end handling so if you have the ability to install components always do that. I used these for rear speakers in my F-150. The brackets that came with adapted just fine so I didn’t need additional adapters which is a nice bonus. The 4-way speaker setup should cut down on poor high range and high-mids that might cause ear fatigue which is a big deal when you play your music at higher levels. For $50-$60 these are a tough deal to beat when they were around $100 originally before Pioneer started to phase out all of their speakers from this era. They must be releasing new equipment late in 2020 to be cutting back on inventory but that means you can get a great deal. I recommend Pioneer for their durability and the more you spend the better returns you get. I also have a set of D-series 6x9 components and they’re amazing and cost 1/2 what other comparable speakers cost. I may eventually swap out the A series for D series but it’s not essential with the rear speakers not doing a lot for front seat riders so spending but doesn’t make much sense, unless you intend to put mud-bass drivers back there for better bass response but that’s another story.     • Good sound, included bracket fits 2012 Chevy Malibu perfectly (no modification needed)
Bought these to replace the dead front door speakers on my 2012 Chevy Malibu. I was a bit worried that most of the aftermarket speaker install videos showed a need for expensive brackets or heavy modification in order to fit my car. Luckily, the included universal brackets fit perfectly for the 2012 Chevy Malibu. It slips right in and mounts exactly like the bracket on the stock speakers. I just wish they included some butt connectors for the wires The speakers themselves sound pretty good. My old speakers haven't worked for a couple years so I can't really give a comparison, I'm also not an audiophile, but for the price I paid I feel like they deliver some pretty good sound. ... show more

    • Really great sound...
I bought these since they were four way speakers made by Pioneer and I wanted to try them and compare to the Polk db two way speakers I also purchased. They both sound great so I'm keeping both. I originally tried installing them in my Toyota Hilux but they're too deep and the windows would not open all the way so I switched them with the Polk db's in my hot rod. The Pioneer's are about a half inch deeper than the Polk's but have a better cage and a bigger magnet. So if depth is an issue, pay attention to the specs of the speakers you want. I only have two gripes about them, one is the grill does not fit easily, you really have to align it first before screwing it in and two, the speakers are built very well but the wire terminals are very weak, I was pushing the spade connector on and bent the cheap paperboard piece that holds the terminals. The media could not be loaded. The Speakers mounted real quick, the speaker brackets fit my 2015 Chevy Sonic Lt. Hatchback Perfectly, I used self tapping screws for extra support! You will love the high sounding crisp output these speakers give out, you get what you pay for, I’m happy with them! Best song to listen to when you hook them up is Hills have eyes!!!! ... show more

I bought two pairs of these speakers to replace the 20-year-old factory set. They sound great and the price was right. Obviously, I’m not a super car speaker guy, however most people aren’t either.     • Excellent 61/2" speakers with clear sound and good bass.
I used these 61/2" round speakers to replace 4x6s in the front door. I have them hooked up to a Sony head unit that puts out 55 watts per channel. Even though that's only about 1/3 the amount of power the speakers can handle it still gets plenty loud enough for me. The sound is clear and detailed and puts out good bass down to about 35hz. This is a better lower bass rating than from 61/2s speakers from Kicker, JBL, Rockford Fosgate, Infinity, and others. Since i went with a larger size speaker i couldn't make use of the provided plastic adaptors which were made very strong unlike the flimsy ones pioneer provides with their 4x6 speakers that I used to replace the rears. I got an adaptor from car adaptors and the fit was perfect. I highly recommend them. All in all, very satisfied with these speakers. ... show more
