    • Pioneer did they best they could with Android Auto
All Android Auto units are a headache, but this is one I can live with. Word of advice: don't leave the GPS antenna disconnected, even during testing. It's used to set the clock, and recent Android Auto versions can throw a link protection fit without it. Just chuck it in the dash wherever-- yes, modern GPS antennas really are that sensitive. I miss having a physical volume knob, but other than that, this is pretty good. Android Auto wireless does work, BUT you need to link and unlink the device a few times via USB before it starts working. Unless it's illegal in your state, consider permanently grounding the the E-brake detection circuit. It's intended to limit driver distraction-- I guarantee you it does the exact opposite. Alternately, run the wire to a switch and decide for yourself. If you share a car with the kids, maybe wire it to a keylock switch. ... show more

    • Wireless Apple carplay!!!!
So what I love about this unit besides the smooth screen look and no buttons is the wireless connection. It’s amazing you get in the car and it automatically connects within seconds. No dealing with digging out your phone and plugging it in, well Unless you want to charge it. Also this model has the GPS antenna that you plug in to it. It really helps with the maps and gives quicker movements of where you are. I really don’t have anything in the cons column on why you shouldn’t buy this. It’s been a great upgrade to my 2011 Mazda Cx7 with the factory Bose system. Would recommend to anyone looking for a modern stereo with excellent features ... show more

item arrived and looked to be in good condition. comes with all cables, remote, but no owner's manual or any other paperwork. didnt install right away (my fault, but life...), but open first operation in the car, i noticed the screen flickering. it works, but kind of annoying. so lesson here: beware of refurb electronics and install asap so you can return/exchange if they dont work right, right out of the box. ... show more

Everything works fine except I wish the option for the Android auto not to connect automatically. Even though I select the option not to connect, it still does it. I have to turn off my Wi-Fi so it does not connect. Also, I'm not sure how to play videos on it. even though I'm parked, I can't view videos. I only hear the sound. ... show more

    • Could be great but…
Install was easy and I love the wireless CarPlay aspect. Unfortunately FM reception was real poor (I know it’s crazy to still use it). I also couldn’t get the harshness out of the eq. I tried going to a pro stereo store and I still couldn’t get it to sound as good as my old Pioneer Bluetooth deck. I did buy a refurbished one so it could that. Just disappointed. I love Pioneer and maybe I’ll try a new model later. ... show more
