    • Best bang for the buck radio upgrade for an older car
This radio had some bad reviews online due to a factory defect. However, if you got a refurbished unit, those issues are nonexistent. It's a wonderful radio that works perfectly. I installed this in a 2009 Prius along with a backup camera and the install was a complete transformation. Totally modernized the car. Apple CarPlay works very well and constantly with the wired connection. No issues with radio reception or sound quality at all. Interface is reasonably responsive and brightness is very good. Bluetooth performance is very good as well. Backup camera image pops up instantly without fuss. I would highly recommend this as a budget double din radio. It has everything you need. ... show more

Came extremely well packaged in a specialty bubble wrap for the head unit. Looked brand new, despite being refurbished. Had all the wire accessories. Got the corresponding Metra faceplate and wire harness adapter, some crimp terminal connectors, and a backup camera. Plenty of YouTube videos on harness routing and dash removal. Easy Install for 2013 Toyota Tundra Double Cab (non JBL). Didn't feel the need to spend extra money on wireless--this was very affordable. Wired Carplay is awesome. ... show more

I installed the product as per instructions. When I first powered on the stereo, it was a blank white screen with colored vertical stripes. It would not reset. I turned off power, and checked everything again. When I powered the radio it worked great. Sound is awesome, and android carplay worked great. The bad part is that the radio only worked that time. Now it only powers up with the white screen and colored stripes. I don't want to keep installing radios, so I am returning it. Before you purchase a reconditioned unit, check the model number on the web and see if there are issues with it. If you google this radio, you will find out that it has always had issues. I don't have a problem with the seller, but I am disappointed in Pioneer. The stereo was packaged very well and all of the necessary items were included. Seller also sent the stereo very quickly. Make sure you review the return policy before purchasing. Pioneer usually have great, reliable products, but not this one. ... show more

I recently purchased a 2009 Toyota Highlander and it had the old stock head unit. I order this Pioneer refurbished and it’s perfect! Looks brand new and functions amazingly! Was easy enough to wire myself and install with all the correct parts (purchased separately).
