I purchased the 36,000 unit for my 30x40 garage. It works great. I have one section that still needs insulated but the unit continued to blow heat(85-90 degree) even down to about 0 degrees outside. Once my garage has the last portion of insulation this will go up quite a bit as the return air will be much warmer. The unit seems very well made and the fit and finish were excellent. Installation wasn't bad but take your time. The copper line sets are easily damaged, especially if over torqued. Shipping was also extremely fast. Unit has been running for about a month straight with no problems. We'll see how it does in the long run but I don't expect any problems. ... show more

I bought this to replace a 2 ton window unit which had died. I am trying to cool a 30 x 30 metal shop building in Texas which doesn't have the best insulation. I purchased the 36K BTU hoping it would be enough to cool down that big open space. It took about a week to arrive, When it did, there was a slight problem, I got a 36K head and a 24K compressor (outside unit). I emailed HighSeer, I sent them serial #'s and photos, and that day they shipped me out the matching 36K compressor. (another 5 day wait) I installed the unit myself, bought a vacuum pump and followed the instructions. The installation went well, and the unit came to life. This unit is awesome! It delivers cool air to the shop front to back. You can hardly hear it running... big change over the window unit. This is one of the best upgrades I have ever made. I live in SW Florida and bought this just over two years ago for my cabinet painting shop, it basically runs 24/7 9 months out of the year to cool a metal pole building shop and does a fantastic job. I can not say enough about this mini split, it is a workhorse and cools my shop no problem even when for the better part of 3 or 4 months with humidity it feels like triple digits down here. ... show more

These are great units. I now have 4 of them- 2 36,000, 1-18,000, and 1- 9,000. The oldest, the 18,000 has been in use for 5 years. Arizona summers give them all a good workout! The 2- 36,000s are installed in well insulated shops of 1600 to 1800 square feet, with 16' ceilings. I am sure that they are technically well undersized for these spaces, but they do a great job. So far, I have done nothing but clean the filters. I have also helped install 3 units for friends. I think that some people buy these without understanding what goes into the installation. I strongly urge any prospective purchasers to read the installation manual. BTW, the manuals have improved considerably over the last 5 years. It isn't really difficult, but it does take some skills and equipment. I have a vacuum pump and gauge set (analog, not a micron gauge). I also have a good flaring tool because I prefer to cut the line sets to proper length. I am retired, so I take my time and try to do it right. ... show more

Bought it, installed it within a month. First issues it had after a month or so. 1st issue is that it would turn off out of no where. The tech came out again checked everything and nothing wrong on his side. 2nd issue was it threw a low refrigeration code and the tech came out again, yet nothing wrong on his side again cleaned it inside and out and restarted it. Did that a few more times maybe a total of 5-7 times and then I shut it off for the season. Now this year it's doing the same. Tech came out and nothing he could find. I'll try and call support so that I can get the run around like everyone else. Other that when it does work it's great. ... show more

This unit was purchased and installed earlier this year. After the installation it wouldn't cool or heat. I contacted tech support and was told to have the AC tech call them so they can retrieve some information. After they had us chase our tails for weeks we were told an ac compressor was needed and they would ship it to the AC company doing the installation. Here we are now over a month later and still no answer compressor. I will make it a point to tell everyone about this experience. Lesson learned. Shopping for another mini split. ... show more

I rarely write a review but feel I need to share my experience. I bought the 36,000 btu model for my shop which is 2560 square feet... so well over the recommended size for the model. The entire area is open space with 6 double pane windows, 2 walk in doors, a 24' insulated garage door, and 12' ceiling. It's early but the system has been running for about 3 days now... over 90 degrees outside... and I have the temp set on 73 degrees. I am very comfortable working inside the shop and the unit is extremely quiet. I work from home and have conference calls on and off during the day and no one can even hear the inside unit running and I sit straight in front of the unit about 10 feet away. I did the installation myself and the dealer (HighSeer) answered any questions that I had and were a tremendous help. So far nothing but good to say about the unit... the one suggestion I would have for anyone doing the install is to have some type of tubing bender for a unit of this size because 5/6" refrigeration copper does not bend easily. ... show more
