  • Great headset but.
I also have a Crystal Light but this Crystal Super is much brighter and sharper. That being said you need a powerful pc for it to run smoothly.

Pros: Sharp visuals Bright display Good software Eye tracking Cons: ~$2000 after all is said and done Mura (visual artifacts in the right eye only. Left eye was flawless. Just luck of the draw when these displays are manufactured, and Pimax allows less than ideal panels to make it into products for cost reasons. If they demanded only perfect displays from the factory, this headset would be well above $2000) Eye strain (I’ve had pimax headsets in the past and they all give me a cross eyed feeling. No my ipd isn’t wrong and yes I adjusted software offsets. It’s something they are doing with the lenses and displays themselves that I am sensitive to) Uncomfortable (Front heavy and the padding in the rear isn’t cushiony enough. Overall it’s just too heavy. Also the front of the headset cannot pivot forwards and backwards which limits how low you can adjust the pad behind your head) Underwhelming FOV (My last pimax headset was awesome because the fov wrapped around the sides of my vision. This is more like a quest 3, after fitting my glasses inside they touch the lenses and it’s uncomfortable and lowers the fov) Bad Tracking (The inside out tracking is jittery and floats around. You will notice your vision wobbling when sitting still, the controller tracking wasn’t too bad, but the headset itself didn’t track well) Choppy Local Dimming (The local dimming is neat, but you will see blocky glowing areas around bright objects in high contrast scenes. If a bright object is on a dark background, you will see a halo bubble around it) Short Cable (Annoyingly short for standing up games, fine for seated games) Summary: Overall I regretted buying this, and could not justify the cost after experiencing so many negatives. Sure it’s super sharp, but you need a crazy graphics card to take advantage of this. I have a 4080 super and it’s just not enough. Honestly, unless you have a 5090 I wouldn’t buy this headset. Even if I had a 5090 though, I was unlucky and got a display with bad Mura. I have a feeling these will be common, and reviewers were sent vetted headsets from pimax. And for the price, I really wish it had a longer and lighter cable, better padding especially in the back, and the FOV was just ok. I ended up putting my quest 3 on after and just wondering why I even bought this. ... show more
