The media could not be loaded. Full disclosure, I did receive this item for review. That being said, the company did ask for an HONEST review and that is why I agreed. This is a very nice knife set overall! I do enjoy the design of the block, it is sleek and takes up less counter space than a conventional block. The magnetic side feature is very handy! That being said, I can tell the top will be scratched up quickly. If you miss the mark and hit the wood, it scratches. This is partly due to the sharpness of the knives themselves, which is actually a good thing. The knives are sharp and seem to hold their sharpness well. I cook 3 meals a day, from scratch, so my knives get used every single day. I have owned this block for 3 weeks and haven’t had to sharpen or hone any. Although I do believe my utility knife will need sharpening soon. The weight of the knives is overall good. I’d prefer the chef knife to be a little heavier but that’s personal preference and it isn’t a deal breaker. The knives are comfortable to hold and overall very beautiful. I’m educated enough to know dishwashers are not for knives so I won’t ever be able to comment on their rust resistance! Hand wash those knives :) Overall I’d recommend these knives. They are a very nice set for the price! It was a great upgrade from the kitchen aid block we received as a wedding gift 17 years ago!

Bought as gift and it replaced two old blocks. Magnetic on both sides so lots of storage. Knife quality is good, very sharp. Dishwasher safe and good value for the money.

Beautiful, very sharp knife set. They feel great in the hand and the block is beautiful, although darker than pictured. I haven't owned it long enough to determine durability, but it's a fantastic value for people who love cooking at home.

This knife set checks all the basic boxes for me. The balance and build are excellent. They have a full tang with three smooth and well-spaced rivets to ensure the handle stays secure, and a seamless butt that emphasizes their quality. The blades are extremely sharp from tip to heel, letting the knife do the work, while the bolster blends into the handle very smoothly making them easy to clean. They come well packaged and protected, each knife encased in plastic with a cardboard sleeve and a plastic tip guard. The beautiful magnetic storage block arrives in bubble wrap. The block is innovative with both sides containing a strong magnet to hold the larger knifes, and slots in the top for the eight steak knives and two smallest knives. Did I mention the block sides are magnetic? Only one side is needed for the included knives, leaving another whole side to hold either more knifes or small metal kitchen utensils at the ready. The block itself is heavy and well made with a smooth finish and rubber feat. It will look beautful and sophisticated in any kitchen. The knives cut cleanly and straight. There's not much more annoying in the kitchen than a knife blade that tends to cut on a slant. I tried them first on a lemon, and it cut so cleanly there was little to no juice lost, even cutting thin slices. The Damascus style pattern on the blades is nice but fairly faint, which is fine with me. It gives them character without screaming for attention. The only weakness, is the set has, in my opinion, is the pair of kitchen shears. They have nice blades with integrated a hook-type bottle opener and a cracker/twist bottle opener. The weakness lies in the grips. They're lightweight plastic and feel rather inexpensive compared to the knife set in general. I'm sure they'll last and do their job well, but pulling the shears out of the block is a little disappointing after handling the knives. This is a very minor downfall considering the various qualities offered by the rest of the set. I would strongly recommend the purchase of this knife set to anyone that enjoys working with quality utensils in the kitchen, or wants to give a thoughtful and memorable gift that will last for many years.

I bought these because I needed a set of steak knives and a bread knife and wanted something similar to my Wustof Chef Knife and Santoku knife. This seemed to be a pretty affordable option. The Piklohas set clearly mimics the design and comfort of the Wustof Ikon series and claims to use nearly the same quality steel but at a quarter of the price. The steak knives feel solid and have a combo serrated and plain blade which should be handy as all-purpose daily knives. The bread knife is a nice upgrade for me coming from a 20yr old Ikea knife (which was so thin it was bendable…). I compared them with my Wustof knives and the Piklohas knives are as sharp but have a slightly different edge. With care, the Piklohas knives seem like they should last as long as my Wustof knives and longer than that Ikea set I had. @Piklohas - If you are listening, this set would be a perfect five-star set if it had a 5” Santoku and a hollow-edge chef's knife. - The 7” santoku is too big for working with smaller vegetables and would give this set a much-needed mid-size blade. - Additionally, I have found that having a hollow edge chef's knife really helps speed up chopping by preventing wet items from sticking to the blade. Seams in the wood knife block are clearly visible and have rough transitions but it’s pretty cool that it is magnetic. Lastly, the Damascus pattern on the knives is printed on the knives, but it looks nice and gives them a bit of uniqueness.
