The product is fine, sturdy, does what it is intended to do. But if you look at the pictures I included, the packing “material” was minimal, if that. Then when I unwrapped it, it had some sort of fluid damage. I am assuming because it wasn’t wrapped well. I sanded the whole product down, which had a very dark layer of something, oil? Seemed too dark. Now that it’s sanded and has fresh oil, it’s beautiful. I would honestly recommend doing that anyway, now that it’s done. It feels really clean. I’m not giving a bad rating for the packaging and damage because I could fix it, but maybe they will read and modify. ... show more

This pizza peel is great for making homemade pizza. Take it right off the pizza stone with this pizza peel and I can cut the pizza right on this wooden peel. Makes it so easy to serve.

This peel is perfect for what I need. It's beveled edge gets under the pizza nicely after cooking. A few things to keep in mind when trying to slide your raw pizza dough off the peel: 1 )use plenty of flour AND cornmeal, 2 )make sure your dough isn't too wet, 3) take care not to press on the dough when applying the sauce and other toppings - if you press into it the dough won't sit on top of the cornmeal, but be pressed in and more likely to get stuck, and 4 )if you like to brush the edges with oil for nice browning, make sure to do so AFTER you slide it off the peel. When you get the residual oil on the peel, it won't allow the pizza to slide off properly. I've learned most of this the hard way, so I hope this info saves you from the headache. Sliding the peel under the cooked pizza and transferring it to a cutting board is a breeze, it's the raw dough that can be tricky. You could cut the pizza directly on this peel, but if you want to be able to use this as a serving platter for a cheese board, fruit platter, etc., I wouldn't cut on it to preserve the beautiful wood finish. ... show more

This is my third pizza peel. Both of the others are made from random wood and one is splitting and peeling. Neither one is big enough to handle a 14” pizza, although one says it is, but is 14” in one direction only, the other side is 12”. So, I went looking to find a durable and beautiful pizza peel. I discovered that the best ones were made of acacia wood, so that is what I bought, and am so happy I did! This peel is smooth and so very pretty. My pizza peel arrived today and either has a defect in the wood or it's damaged from previous use. There are pretty big gouges and scratches near the tip so I am thinking it's just damaged. The box was ok so it didn't happen during shipping. Either way, it's unacceptable so I am returning it. Whoever gets it next, enjoy your damaged $30 pizza peel I guess. If it hadn't been scratched, I would have liked it. The wood is pretty and it's got a nice heft to it so it feels like a quality piece. I'm just mad mine was damaged and someone still packed it up and sent it to me. ... show more
