First of all, there is a lot to like about this set. It comes with 4 paddles, 4 balls, 4 grip tape rolls and a very nice, fitted carrying bag. The paddle surface is fiberglass and it claims to have a honeycomb core, but I couldn't find a listing of what material the core is made of. I measured the grip circumference to be 4-1/8 inches. The core thickness seems to be 13 mm. I was a bit surprised by how heavy the paddle felt in my hand, so I weighed it on my kitchen scale. The entire paddle weighs 8 oz (a smidgen over if you count out 3 decimal places). I am not sure how they measured the weight to get 7.4 oz, but mine were all 8 oz. It's still within the standard mid-weight range, and there are some advantages to it being on the slightly heavier side, but be aware that if you were looking to get a paddle on the lighter side of mid-weight range, you might be disappointed. That being said, I do think that this is a good set for the beginner to try playing the game with ok performance and without breaking the bank. Since you get 4 paddles, the per paddle cost comes out to be about $30. These paddles are definitely a step up from wooden paddles and will allow for better performance and ball control. This pickleball set is very good quality and is USAPA approved. You get 4 paddles, 4 balls, 4 paddle wraps for the handles and a nice storage bag to store them in. They are light weight and easy to hold. Perfect for beginners learning how to play. Highly recommend.

I am new to pickleball so I wanted a set to share with my friends and husband so that we can all play and learn together. I also didn't want to invest a lot of money until I was sure we would enjoy it. This set has everything you need to get started. The rackets seem to be fairly well made and they come with grips, a case and the 4 matching balls. Once we start playing more frequently I can update the review, but I would say that if you want a decent set to start with, this one works! ... show more

I was very disappointed in the Quality of the Packing, I was hoping to play as Family and use the entire 4 sets but upon getting it, I only saw it contained 2 sets. Buy with Caution I would say!

These rackets are great for a group of beginners. The colors make it easy to tell who is using whatever racket. Also the balls are color coordinated with the rackets. However, the holes in the balls are significantly smaller than the ones we typically use. Also the rackets are also thinner and lighter. Paddles feel sturdy and the bag the set came in holds everything well. Our set came with all pieces, 4 rolls of tape, 4 paddles and 4 balls. Being new to the game I can't necessarily say what is high quality versus low but these feel like good paddles that should last a while.

I really love this set. The paddles are very light weight, but they are also sturdy. It's fun that the balls coordinate with the paddles. I also like that it comes with grip tape and a carrying case. It is a major improvement over my last set.
