After investing a good amount of money into my new phone, I wanted to be able to effectively clean it without worrying about alcohol wipes wiping off the anti-fingerprint coating. I don’t like to constantly wipe my devices with an alcohol or other sanitizing cloth. I leave it in the phone soap for five minutes and it is done. Bacteria free for another day.

The media could not be loaded. The Phonesoap is getting 5 stars because it outperforms every such product marketed to do what only Phonesoap can deliver based on physics alone for every device I have tested. The power of UVC germicidal light follows a rule that is as consistent as that of gravity. That rule in nature over the amount of UVC light power reaching a target surface is called the inverse square law of distance. Without getting into the math, that rule simply states that doubling the distance from a light source results in getting a quarter of its power. Phonesoap puts the UVC bulbs directly over the surfaces intended for disinfection. I can not stress enough why this is very important! Too many products have flooded the market making claims that Phonesoap does except they can't because the UVC bulbs in these knock-off devices just aren't powerful enough or in others, the bulbs are located too far away from the target areas for disinfection. Phonesoap suffers from none of these design flaws and pushes innovation forward with the best consumer designed UVC products on the market! Phonesoap did a fantastic job of turning a fragile and extremely effective disinfecting UVC bulb technology into a durable all-day-everyday consumer device. The clear plastic protecting the bulbs inside the Phonesoap is designed not to interfere with the most critical peak germicidal wavelengths from the UVC bulbs. This is confirmed by peeking inside with my phone's camera to see the green UV-C glowing brightly on a 2 step QuantaDose UVC test card. (Remember never expose your eyes or skin to UVC light) The same UVC test card also confirmed target areas for disinfection reached a minimum of 300 µW/cm² in real-time UVC intensity by the calibrated word legibility of the word ”ULTRAVIOLET” becoming visible when the QuantaDose card is exposed to a confirmed source of UV-C germicidal UV light.     • Great gift, especially these days
Not only did I receive one of these as a requested wish list gift, but they make great gifts. The PhoneSoap brand has documented research behind them in being effective, which was obviously very desirable during the current state of affairs in the world. I do not have microscopes or petri dishes lying around my house to test the claims myself, but the research seemed adequate. It is very fast and easy to use, with the process taking 10 minutes almost to the second. The cord slot is helpful in case I want to stow my phone in here while it's charging, and there is a flap that covers the cord hole when not in use. The only opportunity for improvement (and energy conservation) is having a separate button to start the sanitizing process rather than it starting every time the case is opened. This makes operation super easy, but essentially what happens is the sanitizer runs twice every time you want to sanitize your phone once (it turns when you first put your phone in, and then turns on again when you open the case to take your phone out). This is just a design feature preference, but I trust this brand and it functions well! ... show more

I can only trust the science, & that it does what it says it does. I do believe it, because the benefits of UV light is fairly well known. I purchased this mainly due to the fact we have kids. We have been in the habit of passing our old phones down to the younger kids as wifi only devices. Have you ever picked up one of the kids devices and gone WTH is all over it, I am not touching this, while reaching for the hand wipes! Well now I feel safer. We have started using this on our phones and theirs to cut down on germy conditions. The device is super easy to use and straight forward. Place the item inside, close the lid and let it work. Easy Peasy. I am happy with the packaging it came in. It was very protected. The unit feels, and looks beefy. The only part I am not quite sure about is the hinge. I don't think it'll be an issue, it's likely just me. Just feels like it has less resistance than I would expect. But this is an electronic device and not something you'll open 100 times a day. I will buy another should something happen to this one. I may have found a new gift item for those relatives that are hard to buy gifts for. edit: 12-28-2018 So I have been using this for a bit, and I have found a dislike, well at first it was a dislike. Then the ah hah moment came. Wait for it...... It's the design of the charging cord. On the back of the unit, it plugs straight in and make the unit sit about an extra 1 1/2 - 2 inches from the wall. Why would you not put an "L" type plug on the unit for a more space saving design. Wait for it..... The plug causes the unit to sit just far enough from the wall so you can open the lid without having to adjust where its sitting. If you changed the plug it would require you to move the unit each time you used it. I would say well thought out design. ... show more
