Let me just say, I am a bit of a germaphobe. I have been disinfecting my phone every single night for the past few years with Lysol or Clorox disinfecting wipes. I started developing bad rashes and dry skin on my hand from the chemicals. I then started wearing gloves but even that became meticulous and the latex from the gloves also irritated my skin. I came across this when browsing Amazon one day and I am so glad that I bought it. It has saved me so much time and money. More than that, it’s has saved my sensitive skin from handling chemical wipes and cleaners. It does not leave an odor and it’s a great hands free way of sanitizing. I pop my phone in while I shower or get ready. It is so convenient and actually works! It does not make any noise and can charge while disinfecting. It’s about the size of a plastic space maker pencil box (if you remember those)! I got the pink one and it’s very cute. I sit it on my desk and it’s perfect!

Not only did I receive one of these as a requested wish list gift, but they make great gifts. The PhoneSoap brand has documented research behind them in being effective, which was obviously very desirable during the current state of affairs in the world. I do not have microscopes or petri dishes lying around my house to test the claims myself, but the research seemed adequate. It is very fast and easy to use, with the process taking 10 minutes almost to the second. The cord slot is helpful in case I want to stow my phone in here while it's charging, and there is a flap that covers the cord hole when not in use. The only opportunity for improvement (and energy conservation) is having a separate button to start the sanitizing process rather than it starting every time the case is opened. This makes operation super easy, but essentially what happens is the sanitizer runs twice every time you want to sanitize your phone once (it turns when you first put your phone in, and then turns on again when you open the case to take your phone out). This is just a design feature preference, but I trust this brand and it functions well!

Especially since my cell phone tends to drop out of my belt-clip case all too often, I love being able to sanitize it quickly. That operation takes only a few minutes, and I can charge the phone while it is being sanitized in the PhoneSoap box. There are two charging ports on the back of the box, one USB-A and one USB-C, so I can use whichever cable I have handy. (With my USB-C to USB-C cable, my Galaxy S22+ charges more rapidly, of course.)

The media could not be loaded. The Phonesoap is getting 5 stars because it outperforms every such product marketed to do what only Phonesoap can deliver based on physics alone for every device I have tested. The power of UVC germicidal light follows a rule that is as consistent as that of gravity. That rule in nature over the amount of UVC light power reaching a target surface is called the inverse square law of distance. Without getting into the math, that rule simply states that doubling the distance from a light source results in getting a quarter of its power. Phonesoap puts the UVC bulbs directly over the surfaces intended for disinfection. I can not stress enough why this is very important! Too many products have flooded the market making claims that Phonesoap does except they can't because the UVC bulbs in these knock-off devices just aren't powerful enough or in others, the bulbs are located too far away from the target areas for disinfection. Phonesoap suffers from none of these design flaws and pushes innovation forward with the best consumer designed UVC products on the market! Phonesoap did a fantastic job of turning a fragile and extremely effective disinfecting UVC bulb technology into a durable all-day-everyday consumer device. The clear plastic protecting the bulbs inside the Phonesoap is designed not to interfere with the most critical peak germicidal wavelengths from the UVC bulbs. This is confirmed by peeking inside with my phone's camera to see the green UV-C glowing brightly on a 2 step QuantaDose UVC test card. (Remember never expose your eyes or skin to UVC light) The same UVC test card also confirmed target areas for disinfection reached a minimum of 300 µW/cm² in real-time UVC intensity by the calibrated word legibility of the word ”ULTRAVIOLET” becoming visible when the QuantaDose card is exposed to a confirmed source of UV-C germicidal UV light. Within a minimalist design, the Phonesoap puts strong UVC sterilization power where you need it the most! It's worth every penny to buy something that really works, which is easy to test and built to handle everyday use! I love it, a great product, the best in its class!
