Is the installation compatible with standard deadbolts? Yes. Fits door thickness 35-50mm (1.38-2"), cross bore 38/54mm (1.5/2.13"), backset 60/70mm (2.38/2.75") adjustable. Distance from deadbolt hole center to lower handle top must be >44mm (1.73"). What type of batteries does this lock use? How many are required? Requires 8 AA alkaline batteries (1.5V LR6). Batteries not included. Use only AA alkaline. Look for "LR6" or "AA alkaline" on the label. Can I rekey this lock to match my existing keys? Yes. This lock uses a standard SC1 keyway. It can be rekeyed to match your existing Schlage or compatible keys. No locksmith needed for DIY rekey. Can I add or delete passcodes and fingerprints remotely? Yes. Passcodes can be fully added or deleted remotely via the app. For fingerprints, the initial capture must be done locally on the lock for security, but once stored, you can manage access permissions — name, or delete — anytime through the app. Does this lock work without Wi-Fi? Yes. Without Wi-Fi, you can still unlock using fingerprint, keypad passcode, or physical key. I have Philips locks on all my exterior doors - front door, mudroom door, garage pedestrian door and basement door. Installation couldn't be easier. If you don't already have the door bolt hole on your door, there is a template to guide you through the process. Also, there are videos on YouTube for each of their models that provide an excellent tutorial for installation. They also have excellent quick-guide sheets and a thorough user manual included. The complete installation should only take you 5-10 minutes if you don't have to drill the holes. Once installed, load the phone app on your iPhone or Android phone. Open the app, click the "+" button to add your new lock. There's a QR code on your lock that you scan. From there, it takes you step by step to connect the lock to Bluetooth and your local WiFi network. Once you're all connected, you can add pin codes, fingerprints and adjust the various settings. You can receive notifications when the lock is opened/closed, have the lock auto-lock from anywhere between 10 seconds to 3 minutes., etc. You can also give temporary codes to delivery folks or friends and set a time frame when the codes are valid. Overall, this is a great lock that gives you 5 different ways to open the lock. The lock is solidly built and backed by a well known company that's been around for decades. Highly recommended. My rating method: ★ - terrible. I wouldn't consider buying it. ★★ - marginal at best. Doesn't meet the minimum requirements or quality to be useful. Buy it at your own risk. ★★★ - average. Meets the quality and requirements for a product of this type but is nothing out of the ordinary. If the price is good, I'd probably buy it. ★★★★ - better than average. Exceeds the typical quality of a product of this type and has a few extra features not usually found on other products of this type. I have started to replace the deadbolts at my house with smart locks to provide better access and control both when at home and away. This lock provides five ways, other than physically turning the deadbolt from inside, to open and close it: fingerprint, pin, app, voice, and key. I’m an old lady and even for me installation was straightforward and easy with clear instructions included. At one point I did find it helpful to have a second set of hands hold things in place as I set the screws, but I could have managed on my own. After you download the app (QR code included in the instructions) and set up an account, connecting with the lock (via another QR code on the battery cover) is simple. The lock looks nice, feels solid, and works well via all the options. There even is an alert on the app when the AA batteries are running low and need to be replaced. All in all, this is an excellent option for a smart lock at a very reasonable price.

This Philips Smart Deadbolt is a great electronic deadbolt / keyless entry system that just works really well! Installation was super easy and required removing my existing deadbolt, then attaching this new Philips deadbolt. Everything fit perfectly on the first try and did not need any adjustments to the deadbolt hole, though there is an included cutting template if you happen to not have a deadbolt hole already. Set-up was also pretty simple and used the app to get codes programmed, as well as add fingerprints. The app is great and allows you to set various codes, multiple fingerprints, auto-lock settings, and even connect it to a smart-home system. The app also provides notifications when locked/unlocked, which is nice to monitor your home while away. The lock also includes a set of keys for peace of mind if you prefer that mode. Overall, the lock looks great from the outside and inside, and it also feels quite durable and well-built. The fingerprint sensor also is very snappy and unlocks within a second or so. Connectivity over W-Fi and Bluetooth have been rock solid so far with no drop outs whatsoever. The app is the stand-out feature here, and allows remote locking/unlocking, as well as monitoring! Definitely would recommend this lock!

This is a nice smart deadbolt. I really like that it has so many ways you can lock and unlock it. You have a key, you can use fingerprints, you can use personalized pin codes, and you can use the app. The app makes it handy to monitor who has been coming and going from your door as well, if you keep it locked. And so far, all of the ways to unlock and lock it have worked well for us. The exterior portion of the lock is made of metal, which we really like. Unfortunately, the interior part is plastic. We don't like this. We would much prefer the entire thing to be made of metal. The app is nice, and it has a lot of features. I like that you can share access to your lock temporarily, permanently, or on a schedule. You can change your pins and fingerprints from the app as well, which is very handy. And you can add a lot of codes and fingerprints. I really like that everyone can have their own stuff added to the lock. It connected to our Starlink internet immediately, and it has stayed connected since. You can also connect the lock to Alexa and Google Assistant, which could come in handy in certain situations. The app was a bit glitchy at times during setup, though, so that was frustrating. Overall, we are happy with this smart deadbolt, and we will continue to use it until we find the exact set we want to use for all of our doors.

Do your due diligence before purchasing! This does not work if you have double locks/deadbolt. But if this fits your door, then this is 100% worth the purchase. This deadbolt has brought helped us with a lot of stress relief in different areas - mainly because of our teenagers who seem to think leaving their house key randomly laying around is a great idea. This brings an additional sense of security for us because now we can have them use their own code to get in. It’s also fantastic to know who was coming in and out of your home at a certain time. Obviously I’m not encouraging micromanaging, but most people don’t have 10000% honest teenagers… if you do, please teach me your tricks. Otherwise, installation was straightforward. I don’t want to say easy, but it was straightforward. Everything fit where and how it was supposed to per the instructions. Setup wasn’t too bad either. Haven’t experienced any issues so far, and I hope it remains that way. Really wanted to pick up a few of these for our rental properties but they have double locks unfortunately.

Wow! Now this is a high tech lock- You can control it with the number pad or your smart phone. It comes with a template so you can properly drill your door for the dead bolt. It looks fairly easy to install. I am looking forward to this setup and I'm very happy to get this lock. It has a set of regular keys to open the lock the old fashioned way in case you forget the code or your phone. You can control the lock remotely with the app. This will be handy if your spouse forgets their phone or their keys, etc. It still has a knob on the inside you turn with your hand so you can get out quickly in an emergency. There is a small finger pad to open it from the outside with your fingerprint! With the Philips Home Access cell phone app you can be notified every time someone opens your door. Just install the Android Google play store app or the Iphone app. You can also program it for auto lock after a designated time period. This is a sophisitcated lock for sure. Thank you Philips!

My husband and I decided to finally upgrade our front door lock so we could stop fumbling for keys in the dark. I am left-handed, so I was a little worried about the fingerprint scanner being awkward to reach from my side of the door, but the pad is positioned perfectly. I just registered my left thumb and it unlocks instantly when I press it. The installation was surprisingly straightforward and only took us about twenty minutes with a standard screwdriver. The app guided us through the Wi-Fi pairing process without any glitches, and setting up the auto-lock feature was a breeze. I highly recommend taking the time to add multiple fingerprints for each person just in case your hands are wet or dirty. For a smart lock, this feels like a fantastic value. The deadbolt mechanism sounds strong and we love the convenience of checking the app to make sure the house is secure. I would absolutely get another one of these for the back door down the road.
