I bought this speaker on sale during prime day hoping to have it replace my old 2015 UE Megaboom. Compared to that speaker, this one is much more stylish but Philips made a very strange choice in its sound design. Pros: The speaker IMO is very stylish even though it’s mainly plastic and I appreciate the included loops that can be used to tie or hang it. I’ve only had it for about a month but but so far the battery life has been good and I like that it can be used as a power bank. The audio also sounds very clean overall with a v shaped curve. It’s decently loud but not as loud as the Megaboom. Cons: Unlike the Megaboom, this speaker has no smart features or app and you won’t even be able to see its battery percentage on iPhone. Although the sound is clean, it’s not as full sounding as the Megaboom since the mids are recessed. It sounds good with electronic music but can sound hollow with metal. The sound also doesn’t project as widely as with the Megaboom and it’s cylindrical design. The strangest thing about the sound of this speaker is that, unless you pair two of these together, you will not get stereo audio. I find that strange for a speaker that’s supposed to retail for $150. Overall: Not a bad speaker, especially for the prime day price, but I wish that it at least had stereo audio. Unfortunately, this isn’t mentioned anywhere on the product listing and I only found out about that after checking Philips’s website. If you don’t mind being mono audio then this speaker is fine but if you want stereo, skip this one. ... show more

I have a desk setup that I frequently use in both seated and standing positions, so I wanted a good sounding wireless bluetooth speaker that could also connect to my worker MacBook and my home MacBook Air simultaneously. The search was more difficult than I expected, until I settled on this Philips model. So far it's been great -- stays connected to all my devices even after sleep and wake. Sound quality is exponentially better than the onboard speakers on either of my newer Macs. I primarily leave it plugged in, but the battery life seems really good also. ... show more

I expected it to sound equivalent to that of Bose small speakers. Bose produces base that is audible from any distance , anywhere. This speakers advertised 20 Hz frequency response, now not sure what it means. Kept it on a particular Sofa, it sounded amazing. Keep it anywhere else , sounds like a stick beating on a rigid flat surface with no depth. Absolutely useless. I was walking once at the hongkong airport and the sound of Bose Sound Link home BT , almost the same or probably a little smaller in size, amazing sound. 78 Dollars not at all worth the money. Again, JBL speakers sounds better than these. I have been very fond of philips for a very long time, the headphones are really good but these speakers - no , no and no. Both the bass and treble levels impressed me when I first listened to it, especially the deep and soft bass. The TWS is user friendly--once two speakers are aligned they will do automatically as long as both are turned on.
