  • Well built and Philips Hue quality…
Style: Lucca
Replaced old hideous & dated fixtures on our condo. These fit the decor and work very well. Yes, Hue products are not cheap but I have many of their products in our condo and lake house. Philips Hue stuff works as advertised which is not the case for other cheaper brands that I also have. The hubs never drop connection with my networks and are extremely reliable. Easy to install and connect to my Home Kit networks. Fully dimmable and functional using Siri👍. Cast aluminum… well done! ... show more

  • Illuminating Outdoor Elegance
Style: Lucca
The Philips Hue Lucca White Outdoor Wall Light is a fantastic addition to my home's exterior! Its sleek design adds a touch of modern elegance to my outdoor space, while the ability to control it with Amazon Alexa brings convenience to a whole new level. The installation was straightforward, and the light output is just perfect for illuminating my garage entrance. I love how I can adjust the brightness and schedule it to turn on/off automatically, enhancing both security and ambiance. Whether it's to welcome guests or simply enjoy some outdoor relaxation, this light delivers in both style and functionality. Highly recommended! ... show more

  • Great Outdoor SmartLight
Very pleased with this light fixture. We purchased this for a garage extension on the side of our house. It is normally pretty dark on that side and this solved the problem!! It was simple to install, functions great, and looks awesome outside our home. I love that it has the smart light features which is the #1 reason I purchased this. I have it set up through our Alexa on a dusk/dawn timer so I don't have to worry about it going on/off. Provides a great amount of light and I love that I can customize the brightness with the Hue app. It was larger than I originally thought it would be too, which is a perk. ... show more

  • Cute light but…
Style: Lucca
The media could not be loaded. It’s always helps to know what the problem is that someone is trying to solve so… Problem: House numbers are unreadable during the night. The numbers are a yellow gold color against a maroon background hanging vertically. The old stoop light fixture exudes light from its sides and not top nor bottom. Because there is no light coming from the bottom of the fixture the house number is not viewable. Installation: Not complicated and also not for the faint of heart. I had someone help me hang the Lucca after I could not get the unit to sit flush against wall. The wiring sat in the old light housing. The Lucca does not come with a lot of room to store the wiring with their caps. My neighbor, who helped me mount the light, had smaller wiring caps which made it possible to hang the Lucca. Look and feel: The Lucca is a very cool visual design. The neighbors give it a thumbs up. The neighbors then laugh at me when I tell them I must unscrew a tiny screw on the top and a tiny screw underneath to pull the unit away from its base to access and change the bulb. Those two tiny screws make the product less worthy & less recommendable. I do not know how often the bulb will need to be changed. (FYI: Changed 6 times the previous 12 years with incandescents, then cork screws, then LEDs.) If you are a basketball player who does not need a ladder, or you are installing the light at the level of your chin with or without a ladder, then you will have no trouble accessing the tiny screws. The top screw should have been a clip or snap-in design and the bottom screw to stabilize. It will be very difficult to change the bulb at my home due to the height of the Lucca. I will most likely have to pay someone to change the bulb when it needs to be replaced. (Note: This review has been updated by me removing some unneeded words, adding some words, and change the photo as it had my personal house number displaying. Oops. The context, my thoughts and feelings about the Lucca, have not changed.) ... show more

  • A Very Good (Understated) Hue Product
I will start off by admitting that after having tried several different wifi based smart lights with little or no success, I eventually caved in and joined the Hue side-mostly for its build quality and Zigbee protocol. And I have to say that not having to deal with bandwidth issues and unreliable bulbs/apps, I couldn't be happier. The old adage that you get what you pay for most certainly applies with Hue. In early 2019, I began the journey of migrating over to Philips Hue. Since that time, Ive not had a single glitch with almost 100 bulbs and two Hue bridges. Every automation works, every light performs as expected. I can use both HomeKit and Google Home (and Alexa if I had one of their products). Like all my other Hue investments, with these Hue Ludere Floodlights, I have gotten a huge return on my investment. I currently have 6 of them (12 bulbs) around the perimeter of my house. They are programmed to come on at sunset, progressively brighten to full brightness in an hour until midnight, then dim down to their lowest level until sunrise. They never fail. Ever..with the oldest being almost two years now. Initially, I was concerned about the asthetics of the fixture itself, but after the first install, I grew to realize that these are just fine (not fancy, but certainly functional and well built). The fixture is made mostly of a hard resin type plastic that has been caste black (no other color option), with metal components in the base and adjusters. In that regard, they are similarly built to the generic fixtures that you can buy online or maybe even at your local hardware store with a small difference: the price. I actually found that buying these Hue floodlights as a kit (the regular non smart fixture with the bulbs you have to screw in) is cheaper than buying the Par 38 bulbs separately, then buying similar housing. To be clear, you get the bulbs AND the fixture for $79. If you purchase a similar non Hue fixture and the Hue bulbs separately, it will cost significantly more. The cheapest I priced the non Hue fixture was $40-which was of comparable material. You're also taking a chance on whether or not the fixture is optimal for the Hue bulbs. However, with the Hue fixture, you can rest assured that they are optimized for their brand of outdoor smart bulbs (a definite plus for me). Here's the breakdown: Currently the Hue food light bulbs 2pk sale for $55 on amazon. Add a separate light fixture for $40, you will have paid $95..whereas this kit (2 bulbs AND the fixture) goes for $79. That's why I bought 6 of them over time. Now if you already have a fixture you are happy with, then of course only get the bulb pack-IF it completely covers the bulb that's great. But if you're looking to replace the housing with a fixture that sets the bulbs flush in its housing-jump at these because I haven't seen the kit for quite some time on Hue's website-which leads me to believe the kit has been discontinued. Hope this helps you make a decision. ... show more
