  • Good for the price but not as loud as I had hoped.
I purchased this as a solution to just listening to the movie from my BenQ 1070 projector's speaker. It really does improve sound greatly over the BenQ projector speaker by a long ways. So in this endeavor it functions very well and does the job I bought it for. I wasn't expecting amazing results with this due to the price point being so low. So no one should really complain that it isn't an all in one triple AAA solution for theater sound at home. I only gave it 3 stars not because I am having any issue with the speaker bar in a technical way... but rather I was surprised just how even at full volume it wasn't very loud at all. At full volume it is just barely enough for certain films. I have a medium sized room that allows about a 120 inch corner to corner projection on a flat white painted wall. We have a small 3 person couch with a room that is wide but the depth from the couch to the wall is about 12 feet. There is carpet so it dampens the sound more than maybe a hardwood floor room would with this speaker... but we never use it at anything but turned all the way up. Sometimes we are lucky and the blu ray or streaming film has pretty high sound levels by default and it helps but on average the loudest this goes isn't really that loud. It is just barely enough to be acceptable and not really anything that say, you'd want from Star Wars explosions or loud music crescendos. All in all... for the price... it is decent enough. Though I am looking for something that is a little more capable. The one real star of this speaker is that it has more traditional in/outs than a lot of speaker bars that you only can hook up using hdmi or blue tooth. I specifically wanted something with RCA or stereo mini. This has those options which is nice. ... show more

  • Interesting complex
Have Phillips TV so ordered this Phillips sound bar, but it blocked the signals for the tv remote when I set it up. Looks like it’s good, though. Heavy and nice quality construction. Just wasn’t compatible with my TV.

  • Surprisingly bad
Even though there were no instructions or quick start guide included I assumed this would just be plug and play and relatively easy to use. I set it up with the hdmi arc cord immediately noticed how weak it sounded. I had to crank the volume up to 54 to hear it. At that point I thought it was just a matter of adjusting the built-in subwoofer so I put it on max and couldn't even tell the difference. There was literally no bass added. I attempted to adjust the sound using the EQ button on the remote and realized it's not a matter of just pressing the button and wasn't straight forward at all. It turned out that I did need instructions of some sort but they were not included. I packed it back up for a return after playing around with it for about twenty minutes and discovering that it's just not a good soundbar. I have used plenty of Philips products in the past so I really expected something decent. I knew it wouldn't be top tier based on the price but I thought it would be an improvement on the speakers for the small tv in my office but it was worse. ... show more

  • Nice Sound
Pretty happy with this purchase. Sound quality is great, super easy to set up and to use. Wish there were a few more in-between volume settings.

  • I hold 1 star read below
Really nice sound and value is good. It just doesn’t automatically sync up with television every time. It takes a few minutes or a restart to get things lined up, could be user error, but I do get it working so I am hesitant to claim the blame. Nice speaker over all and helps my deaf ass catch some of the audio from the otherwise lacking tv speakers ... show more

  • Great quality and sound for the price
I was very impressed with how well this works and ease of setup. The HDMI ARC setup is totally the way to go, turns on and off with the TV and your TV remote controls the volume, no need of extra remotes. It has a good sound and the sub woofer has good output and bass.

  • Great Soundbar
I got this for movies, but it so happens it enhances video game too, which is pretty cool. I was a little skeptical at the size, but the built in sub woofer is great! I recommend going with the optical cable.

  • Great Sound. Plenty Loud
The quality of the sound in the volume really are solid. I have quite a few stereo systems and I feel like for the money this is a solid choice. I’m going to buy another one for my other house. There’s plenty of bass coming from a small subwoofer located at the bottom. Miss and highs are good. Nice remote. Easy setup. Make sure to set your tv to auto in the audio settings! ... show more
