  • Really nice machine
Style: Pasta Maker
The Philips 7000 series pasta maker is a really nice machine. I have only used it a couple of times but it works really well. It is fast, easy, quiet and easy to clean. I made a batch of egg noodles for beef and noodles in about 5 minutes from putting the flour in the mixing bowl to turning off the machine. They were the best fresh noodles that I have ever made. The machine is well constructed and feels very solid. ... show more

  • So EASY to use!
Style: Pasta Maker
I needed this machine 35-40 years ago. I have always made homemade noodles but now have health issue which causes extreme fatigue if I stand very long. This was so easy to clean & put together for the first use. It is a breeze to make my pasta. I make almond flour pasta for health reasons so called Philips to make sure it would be okay to almond flour as instructions say not to. He said it was okay with the newer versions. Worked great. Follow instructions and in 3 minutes it is extruding your dough. I didn’t even have to wear myself out making, kneading or rolling out dough. It does all the work for you. You just pour in a few ingredients! Pay attention to the texture your dough should have and slowly pour in the liquid so you can stop at the correct consistency. There are videos on YouTube that show consistency which also helps since the desired consistency is different than making homemade noodles. Haven’t tried all the discs that come with it yet. Only downfall for me is that I wish it came with a macaroni disc. Previously used my KitchenAid pasta attachment which I loved but now have to have husband’s help to roll out. With the Philips Pasta Maker, I can make it anytime because I can do it myself without help. So glad I purchased this machine! ... show more

  • Works well, but lacking in power.
Style: Pasta Maker
This machine is pretty solid. Lots of metal where it counts, which is nice. It does work well, and based on reviews for other similar machines it sounds like this is the one to get. I do wish it had some more power and used bronze/brass dies, because both those improvements would improve the final product. BUT, when you look at the most affordable options out there with double the power and brass dies, they start at about 3x the price. It would be nice to see those stats in a consumer machine that didn’t have to be imported straight from Italy, but that’s the market right now. I find the included dies to make pasta that’s thicker than I’d prefer. There are companies online that sell brass dies and an adapter, and they work quite well in this machine. More power would create more pressure against the die, which would help create stronger shapes that would hold up better to drying the pasta for long-term storage. But for the time being, my opinion is that this is the best option if you don’t want to buy a light commercial machine from Italy for $1000+. One cool thing about this is the ability to make pastas out of a variety of other flours. I’ve seen recipes for gluten-free pastas, pastas made from chickpea flour, almond flour, low-carb flour alternatives, with added squid ink or vegetable juice or powder, etc. If you really want to experiment and do some interesting things with pasta, and especially if you want hollow shapes like rigatoni and bucatini, this is going to be your best option. ... show more

  • Bronz dies make a difference!
Style: Pasta Maker
I hesitated buying this machine because I was turned off by the plastic dies that come with it. Then I heard of a company in Italy called Pastidea that sells bronze dies that makes a heck of a difference in the quality of pasta that the Phillips puts out. It's almost like owning a professional machine! The rigatoni is cut perfectly with the Pastidea dies whereas I thought the Penne dies that came with the machine was cut a little to thick for my liking. The 7000 cuts pasta-making time to about 30 minutes and is easy to clean. I highly recommend the Phillips 7000. ... show more

  • So far, only able to get it to display error code E1. But works great as a paper weight.
Style: Pasta Maker
The paddle is in place, the shaping disc in place, the bolts firmly fastened, and the lid in place, but the only thing I have been able to get this thing to do is display error code E1. There is nothing left to put in place, I've tried all of the shaping discs, and nothing left to tighten down. Either I have a bad unit, or am missing an unpublished step in the instruction manual. ... show more

  • Mixed Impressions: Philips 7000 Series Pasta Maker Review
Style: Pasta Maker
The Philips 7000 Series Pasta Maker, boasting ProExtrude Technology and Perfect Mixing Technology, offers convenience for homemade pasta enthusiasts. However, my experience with this device has left me with mixed feelings. On the positive side, the pasta maker effectively fulfills its primary function, producing fresh pasta with relative ease. The ability to prepare up to 8 portions at once is a practical feature, and the included NutriU App adds some guidance, albeit lacking precise recipes. Unfortunately, significant shortcomings hinder the overall experience. Despite following the manufacturer's instructions, I consistently encountered issues with dough consistency, resulting in overly liquid mixtures. Additionally, while the pasta maker excels at producing spaghetti and lasagna, it struggles with smaller shapes, producing elongated strands that require manual cutting. On a brighter note, cleaning the pasta maker is straightforward, as all components are dishwasher safe. I particularly enjoy the fresh lasagna sheets made with semolina, adding a homemade touch to pasta dishes. Ultimately, despite its capabilities, the Philips 7000 Series Pasta Maker falls short due to imprecise recipes and limitations in pasta shapes. Knowing these shortcomings, I would hesitate to recommend it to others. ... show more
