Its basic functionality works great for large people like me. It's sturdy, comfortable, and easily folds out for use and up for storage. There are only a couple of minor problems. The locking mechanism doesn't feel sturdy. It works, but you're left questioning if it will work until you actually test it. A better-designed, metal system would likely solve this issue. The cup-holder is very flimsy. If you're not careful it can come right off in use. After testing our new chairs, we elected to ditch the cup-holders entirely rather than risk it. This bit definitely needs to be redesigned. But in the end this is still a minor issue - nobody buys chairs like these for the cup-holder. ... show more

Bought this chair as my mother was visiting us and she likes to enjoy the outdoors as spring is finally here. She always wanted to sit outside and enjoy the sun but is not able to be in sitting position for very long period. So, was researching few options and came across this chair and I have to say, it is perfect for what I was looking for my elderly mom. This thing goes almost flat when tilted back and is extremely comfortable for her. It did take her few tries to get used to it as she was very nervous that it will flip over, but no concerns at all anymore. The padding and the head rest is very good, and she sits (or lays) on it for couple of hours without any issues! And the side can/book holder is very convenient as well! The chair is quite sturdy as well, I had my 220lb son sit on it and this chair did not budge at all. If there is one thing that I would like to be improved, it would be the locking of the chair when moving. There does not seem to be any lock for storing or moving the char and it tends to open when folded. Other than that, I would highly recommend it to anyone! ... show more

    • Very comfortable, but read my urgent update...
URGENT UPDATE - Although I still love this chair, I have discovered the hard way that the "nuts and bolts" need to be tightened. When your chair arrives be sure to use a hex key (aka allen wrench) to tighten up every connection possible. I recently sat down and discovered the arm on one side and the rear leg on the other side had come loose. When this happens, the nut caps fall off and the bolts will come out of the frame. If those nut caps get lost, good luck finding replacements. Also, although they look identical, they are NOT interchangeable. If the nut cap doesn't fit the bolt you are trying to fix, check all other bolts to find which one(s) are missing the nut caps, AND search the surrounding area for the nut cap(s) you are missing. ORIGINAL REVIEW - I purchased this to help deal with the edema in my feet and legs since my recliner does not elevate my feet enough. This chair is very comfortable, And I have learned that it is not even necessary to lock the chair in position, because once I am fully reclined, if I shift my rear end back one more inch the chair stays in the reclined position that I have put it in. This makes it much easier to get in and out of the chair without having to fumble with the locking mechanism. I will say that it is difficult to open the chair the first time, but ever since then it has been easy to open and fold it back up. I do agree that the side tray is less than stellar, but it is still helpful, at least for my purposes. Please be aware this chair is large, but that adds to its comfort. I only weigh165 pounds, but most of the others make me feel crowded it when i'm sitting in them. This one gives me extra room on both sides of my hips and rear end. Do yourself a favor, get this one. It is actually comfortable enough that I am able to nap in it. ... show more
