I initially bought this for the course designer. Playing my local courses in a video game seemed like a very satisfying pastime and I was right. It was a pleasant surprise finding most of them already "published" so I didn't have to put them in myself. However the deginer can be very realistic once you learn it's subtleties. I'm having a blast with that. The one real down side is the commentary track. I turned that off almost immediately. Plus navigating the menus was not exactly intuitive but I figured it out. While the graphics seem unfinished the actual game play is pretty fun but it takes a while to get a feel for it. Putting seems harder than it should be but I guess that’s just like real golf too.

I bought this because I love to play golf. The only thing is that I can't because of health issues. The course designer is fun to play around with and I have designed a few to play around with. It's fun to get on line with other people to chat and play as well but that is where the real fun ends. For it's beautiful courses, the game is extremely buggy. Too fast, too slow; 2 mph wind plays like 10 mph and vice versa; some of the actual courses don't look like the actual courses; shot comes up way too short or way too long. 2k21 did away with the punch shot. The putting is enough to drive you insane at time. There are some that have seemed to master the game but there are also a lot of modified controllers as well making it far too easy to cheat. And it seems that when they come out with an update, it may gets rid of a bug but adds another or makes the bug worse. I know there are some good ratings on here but for me, the game failed. I wanted to like it because the course graphics are incredible. The swing dynamics with the controller are about as close as you can come without holding a real club in your hands. The designer has not done a good job of listening to the complaints. Maybe with EA Sports and 2K22, that will change. ... show more
