For the cost it is extremely ice. I personally love the reel. I think it is very smooth and I have caught fish over 5lbs on this rod so not only is the drag capability great, but the rod itself is very responsive and not some cheap stick that is gonna snap. I really like the design with the cork style handle. It isn't overly big and fits in my car easy for quick and long trips to the water. It falls apart . Bought for my grandson in Sept, just used it casted it and everything fell apart. Not happy. Can't even return it cause pieces are in lake

Ordered this item twice and both times the rod was delivered broken. The way they package the rod leaves the tip sticking out of the end of the box. The second time it was deliver broken I decided to just keep the reel and take the loss. I was able to use the reel a handful of times in about three weeks time and the drag ended up breaking in the reel. I’m super disappointed in the quality of the combo. When i received my new rod and reel the packaging was bent at end. I received a broken rod. Just the last eyelet was snapped off but still there. I just dug out the broken tip and glued the eyelet back on re a ulting in only a two inch loss in length
