  • SHARP
Dangerously sharp, this thing sliced my finger wide open in the first 20 seconds of using it. Would recommend purchasing. High quality product.

  • Once sharpened, works well
I bought the same knife from a different business. It's made well and strong for it's size. The handles and their angle work work well for me. I use this for some closer shaping of wood spoon handles prior to using a knife for the rest of the carving. If you want more accurate paper thin cuts, use a good spoke shave and good ones aren't cheap. It's somewhat sharp out of the box but it's always nice to have razor sharp to make your work easier and do better cuts. The edge angle is good but you'll see the fine grind marks from the cutting stone used to make this angle. Also fine grind marks on the top and bottom of the steel blade. Took around an hour, working up to a 8,000 grit stone, to hand smooth and polish the top and bottom, sharpen this angle face smooth, get a very sharp edge, and strop. Now it cuts wood like going through butter and holds an edge reasonably well. ... show more

  • Very well made, sharp out of the box.
I use this for striping the bark off of cottonwood for carving. You need to have something to hold the piece since you need to use both hands for the tool.

  • Disappointed for the price.
The tool did not come with blade cover
