We purchased this case to transport the bands mics because it was reasonably priced. Overall, the case works well. The plastic it is made of has a rough finish. It is not smooth, but It is made of a sturdy, decently heavy plastic. Inside it comes with a foam eggshell insert that is secured to the lid of the case (not removable) and several foam inserts. Each one is a different thickness and these are removable so you can use just what you need. You can also cut an insert in the foam to place your stuff in. Pretty handy! The only complaint would be the plastic that holds the locks closed. They are made of a softer, bendable plastic. It is not a flimsy plastic but seems like they will wear out eventually and then you’ll be left with no way to keep the case closed. It’s a shame because overall this case is a good value for your money, does the job of protecting whatever is inside. Wish they would put a little more care into redoing the locks. Would even spend a bit more money on these cases if they could fix that issue. If you are planning on using this case daily and opening and closing it all the time you might want to spend a bit more money on something with metal locks. Just my opinion. Otherwise this case is a pretty decent value and made in the USA! ... show more

Having purchased a couple of the Bosch 12v bare tools, I was looking for cases to protect them for trips away from the shop, where they have bench drawers. After some research I deemed the Bosch L-Boxx line as too costly for my budget (I already have a Bosch soft pack I could use in a pinch). However, one of the reviews on Amazon referred to this item PFC 135-100-044-5SF Plastic Carrying Case, 13 1/2" x 10" x 4 3/8", Black as an almost perfect fit for the 102 insert. Listed on Amazon new for $25, I low-balled and jumped on a Used-Like New offering for $15 and change. I received it today and am pleased enough with the quality and value that I wanted to go ahead and review it. The insert is about 2" narrower and 3" shorter (front-to-back) than the inside box dimensions. I resolved this by Gorilla gluing the bottom and two edges to the inside of the box, filling a slim gap with some small foam inserts I'd saved back from something. This left only a gap at the rear of the insert, wide enough for a torpedo level or something similar in size. Obviously I cannot yet attest to the long-term durability (the latches seem a little iffy) but with care should last for a good long time. I'm satisfied that this box is a satisfactory substitute for the L-Boxx equivalent at about 1/3 the price. Bonus: there are several different thicknesses of foam included, not counting the egg-crate piece affixed to the box lid; inserts for the L-Boxx series cost extra, so.... UPDATE: ordered a second one from Amazon's "Warehouse Deals", price was a little higher ($18.95) but still listed as like new. When I received it I was very displeased to see that the foam liner in the lid had been forcibly torn off, leaving an ugly glue line as well as a shark-bite tear in the foam piece. This in spite of the label "..Inspected and Repackaged"! I initiated an immediate return which, as usual, was easy. C'mon, Amazon, how about some quality control...prospective buyers of used items, caveat emptor!! I'll now order the new item instead, pay a little more, and count this as a learning experience. ... show more

Sure, there are cheaper (and much more expensive) options out there, but I can't complain for the price. Yea, Harbor freight sells some cheaper cases than this- but that's exactly what you get. Quality wise, this case seems a few steps up from what I looked at in their store. Bought this to house my tablet oscilloscope when I'm not using it. There are two ~1 inch foam layers as well as a thin 1/4" layer inside that were easy to cut to shape. I was able to use the thinner pad in the middle to separate the two layers and create a nice pocket underneath that holds my less used cables and attenuation adjustment tools under the first layer you see here. The case seems quite sturdy and the size was just right for my purposes. ... show more

    • Great storage/display case
This is a great storage case for the price. I use it to store/display my knives. There’s plenty of foam pads (3 in fact) to arrange as desired, and a built-in pad on the lid. Much sturdier than some knife rolls I’ve had. A very slight chemical smell from the foam at first but goes away after a few days. My only con is that there isn’t a way to lock it. Might need to drill the handles on the side for an improvised lock. Other than that great case. ... show more
