This was easy to put together and sturdy. Definitely not weatherproof or for outdoors. I caulked the roof and painted it with a good outdoor weatherproof paint that made it suitable for outside.

    • Assembly Required
All cat boxes are rectangular. This cat box house is relatively square and my cat box doesn’t fit. I have had a stroke and specifically searched for a cat box cover that did not require complex assembly. I had to juggle 8 long screws and bolts, 4 sides of unassembled wood, and even more hardware to get the roof on (which I am unable to do but will get my son to help hold the heavy roof while I screw the mechanism to open it.) It is solid wood but raw, unfinished wood, so be aware it has to be sealed inside and out before letting the cats use it. ... show more

The wood is untreated so it would need stained or painted. Great for a project piece. But the price is a little outrageous for what you get. In my case I bought it because of the dimensions and I couldn’t find anything else close enough for a decent price. My senior cat refuses to use litter anymore and has a hard time with boxes so he has been using a puppy pad instead. With us adding a dog to the family we needed a way to keep the dog away from his pad, so I got this. Still a little small but we treated the inside of the area with a water proof seal so we could put his pad on top. It works for us. For this specific project. I had an old barn style house for my cats. It was covered in carpet but over the years my cats had shredded the carpet. I wanted to get rid of it because it looked terrible and had lot of carpet fibers hanging off it. I purchased this house last week and my cats seem to like it as soon as it was assembled. If you want it weatherproof it will need painting. I like it just as it is,,and more important my cats like it. ... show more

It’s the perfect house for my bunnies. I was having the hardest time finding something that my Flemish giant could fit in, and this was perfect! And it’s untreated so I don’t have to worry about them chewing on it. If I had a bigger room, I’d buy the larger one too!

Light weight but not flimsy. Assembled quickly without problems. So far the neighborhood cats that I got the housing for have not entered it but they have sat on top of it. Time will tell if it is weather proof or if the cats will actually use it.

This little house assembled easily and looks great. I painted it with exterior paint and then placed it in a large enclosed outdoor rabbit run. The three bunnies love it. They all cuddle together inside and the flat roof gives them room to lounge on top of the house. It's easy to clean and looks very nice. Perfect for my needs! ... show more
