It came in the time stated with the order which was important because the next day I was scheduled to take my cats to the groomers. They are too big now for one carrier and I needed two. Something I would change is to have the front opening stand up and open on its own like my other carrier.

I had to return it as it was too small. Says it holds 16 lb dogs, but it was too small for my 10 lb dog. Important to describe correct size dog it will hold as I had to catch flight quickly. Needed to buy another from retail store. Looks and functional looked good though. Disappointed I didn't get to use it.

I've always had multiple kitties in my home, and have tried out and gone through a number of cat carriers over the years and decades. I evaluate cat carriers in the three categories of: 1. Kitty comfort; 2. Kitty safety and security; and ease of use and cat parent-friendly features. In the first area of kitty comfort, I would score this carrier highly. It's a few inches shorter in length than the other recent carriers I've owned, but since both of my current kitties are small to medium-sized (i.e., one is 7 1/2 pounds and the other is 8 1/2 pounds), I don't think it's too small for carrying one of them at a time. Also, the only place I ever transport my kitties is back and forth to the vet, so there really isn't a need for them to have extra space or leg room. Plus, kitties seem to feel more secure in smaller spaces. The plush fleece removable fleece pad is nice and comfy for my kitties...although black is probably the worst color to choose for a mat for long-haired cats like mine who shed abundantly! I also like the amount of vented mesh openings in this carrier. There's enough of them to provide some ventilation and opportunity for viewing what's outside, but not too much openness for my felines to feel overexposed. In the second area of safety/security, the carrier itself and its handles and straps feel sturdy and well made, with higher quality materials. There is a built-in safety leash for pets on a collar. However, since I have never put a collar on any of my indoor-only kitties, I had to cut it out so that my kitties wouldn't get tangled up in it. (I wish cat carriers would make detachable rather than built-in tethers.) There is a strap on the back of the carrier so it can be fastened to the car seatbelt (and to your luggage if traveling with your kitty); however, I usually just place the carrier on the floor of my vehicle. In the third category of ease of use and parent-friendly features, I think this carrier has a lot going for it. I like that it has adjustable padded shoulder straps and that I can carry it cross-body style. I like that it's made of an attractive blue canvas material which seems sturdy and easily cleanable. I like that it is collapsible so that it can be stored in a small space. I like that there's a pocket on one end for storing pet meds or supplies. I just wish there was also a zippered pocket for storing keys, a credit card and a cell phone, so I wouldn't need to bring my purse inside the vet's office. I also like that there are 2 entrances/exits with double zippers because I really need to utilize the double zipper system when trying to move quickly to get one of my kitties secured inside. I usually top load my kitties into the carrier, so the double zipper on top is especially appreciated. HOWEVER, I have tried out the double zippers on multiple occasions since Amazon delivered this carrier, and unfortunately, I'm finding the zippers to be sticky and hard to use. I'm not sure if this is what the manufacturer means when they said, "self locking zippers," so this may actually be a safety feature. However, because I have to fiddle with the zippers so much to get them opened and closed, they detract from my ease of use of this product. Hence, the one and only reason I ended up deducting a star from my rating.

My cat immediately entered and settled inside the carrier as soon as I unpacked it, despite some residual manufacturing scent (thankfully aired out pretty quick). The carrier does rely on the smaller ends staying closed to remain upright though. If you open one of those doors, the side collapses a little bit.
