Best Collar For Training
These collars are the best. I always use these for training my dogs because they are non-slip with the martingale feature and very well made. I've had them last the life of my dogs. They wear well and clean up easily if they get dirty. The snap function is a great feature in making it very easy to remove them without having to adjust the collar to get it over the head. I prefer these collars to choke types because although they prevent the dog from slipping the collar, they are not meant to choke the dog which can damage the trachea not to mention scare the animal and interfere with training. With standard buckle collars, they are great for regular wear but in terms of training, lacking the martingale feature leaves the chance of a frightened or stubborn dog the opportunity to slip the collar, which can be disasterous in a training situation. has a sturdy, larger nylon snap
This is an attractive, well-designed product. Most importantly, it enhances my dog's safety. Initially, I purchased a Guardian Adjustable Pet Collar from Amazon in the "S" size. That collar, in the "S" size, was only 5/8" wide, with a very flimsy nylon snap --- a snap that my dog (17 lb cairn terrier) and I could open by simply pulling on it! My next stop was this product, the PetSafe collar, also in the "S" size. This collar is a full 3/4" wide, has a sturdy, larger nylon snap, and cannot be opened accidentally. In addition, it has important safety features which prevent my dog from backing out of his collar while on a leash. Superb product, very reasonable price, good fit. And safe for my dog. ... show more

Thank you for an affordable price point collar of great quality.
My rescue dog was wearing one of these when I first got her. She has several behavioral issues and for hers and others safety I realize now why this is the only collar for her- as she needs a collar that won't slip off and has the clip you can unlock when you need to take it off vs having to pull it off her head. Runs slightly smaller - but great product!
I have a two year old Shiba Inu. Her previous standard collar measured 13" and her neck size was about 13". Following some of the recommendations of previous customers, I purchased the small size (other reviewers mentioned to go smaller when in between sizes). Even as a small, I still had to adjust it down to fit her, but adjusting was very easy. This is a great product. Its perfect for leaving on all the time, it gives me extra control over her (she likes to pull a bit during walks), and its very strong and well built. I highly recommend this product! ... show more

This collar worked well for my puppy
I was having big problems trying to walk my puppy and someone suggested a Martingale collar. I searched and found this one and decided to give it a try. The price was right and it did work well. My puppy had been choking herself trying to pull me or trying to run away while on leash. This helped tremendously. The only issue was she outgrew it so quickly. Also with this vendor the color choices are few. I had to go elsewhere for a color I preferred when it was time to purchase a larger size. ... show more

small is too heavy for my dog! Maybe when she is bigger?
Very, very heavy. Neck size is perfect, but she is a small puppy and it is too heavy for her. Very disappointed.

2nd collar we've bought and love it!
I've seen some people concerned about choking...I don't personally feel like this is a problem because my dog only wears this during walks, not left unsupervised. There's a good amount of slack when the collar is relaxed, and appropriately tightens when there's a pull. My dog looks comfortable and happy in it and especially allows quick correction for puppy training. We got a small for our puppy and bought a medium as he grew to about 45lbs ... show more
