I have 5 dogs - 3 border collies and 2 German Shepherds. They are in and out of this thing at least 100 times a day. Durable as all hell, they fit just fine, a couple of them can even manage to go through it at the same time. Took a day or so for some of them to figure it out, but they eventually did. They even understand they canโ€™t use it when the door/cover is on it. No more accidents, not more tantrums when a favorite toy is left outside, by far the best money Iโ€™ve ever spent. ... show more

This product seems to be exactly what I was looking for, however the package I received was missing the glass sweep component that is needed to ensure that electricity isnโ€™t wasted, and for weather proofing. Customer service isnโ€™t simple enough to report the issue and request the missing component.

I decided on getting the bigger door for our Pit Terrier and was hoping our 3 little chi-wienies could use it and after a couple days of nosing the flap they were in and out ALL day long!!! So, in my case this door does what I need it to do. I didn't want the hassle to cut through my walls and siding for a door that gets used maybe 10-20 times per year. I have 2 labradors between 75-100lbs and the extra large works for them either 0 issues. Positioning the door on the track is a breeze and the spring load top works perfectly. They also provide a weather strip style seal if it's more of a permanent fixture. I put mine in then take it out so I didn't bother using it. My only complaint is if your screen door has a locking mechanism, you likely will need to remove it if you are using this door temporarily like I am. The lock pieces on my sliding door and the piece on the frame cause a very large gap. Not ideal if you want to keep bugs out in the summer or heat in during the winter. Fortunately, my lock setup is 3 screws so it's an extra 30 seconds to remove/reinstall each time I use this door. Not sure how they could make the product accommodate this or provide someway to ensure I can still lock my door. Additionally, for the price, it would be nice if they included a door jam to keep the main patio door in place. I'm using a piece of wood but I saw cheaper models that included a jam. The only reason I took a star off is because the replacement flaps are so expensive. They get dirty/stained and have to be replaced sometimes but the main unit has stood up for several years even with large breed dogs running thru it full blast and taking the dog door with them sometimes.
