I ordered two of these the first one arrived today, the kennel itself was easy to put together and seems fairly solid for transporting my cats. However, it came missing one of the top compartment doors. I need them for two kitten neuters on Tuesday, so I really don't want to return it. Hopefully the one scheduled to arrive tomorrow won't be the same way. *Edit Second one had both compartment doors but was missing the hardware (was easy enough to use some heavy duty zip ties to temporarily fix the issue) The way they are packed makes it easy for the hardware or compartment doors to pop off or fall out. I contacted Petmate's customer service, and they are sending me out a replacement door and hardware.. I bought 3 of these for my sons dogs to travel in. Upon arrival one had a crack along the side. It was small & didn’t seem like it would interfere with our one time use plan, so we ignored it & moved on. They were literally placed in them upon boarding a ferry, stayed in them for 3 days during the trip & were taken out upon docking. They were each put in with a blanket, a toy & the set of 2 dishes I clipped onto their crates for food and water. When we docked my son took the dogs to shore while I broken down the crates to fit in my truck. Upon doing so I noticed that the bottom of 2 crates was blown out. Luckily they didn’t notice it one the ship because I would have had to rent other crates, deboard, etc. I would not buy these even for a one time use. ... show more

these carriers are perfect for cats. if you use a smaller one, regardless of size of cat or "weight rating" its quite inhumane to transport them so crammed in. if you trust a plastic handle to carry your animal, you are asking for failure. the handle is used for empty cages. when animal is inside you should carry from the bottom, just like you would a heavy box ... show more
