We have low-pile carpet, (approx. 3/8th inch), that the toy is supposed to be able to work on, but even that amount was too much. And yes we waited until the toy was fully charged before using it. It had our cat's attention the moment we turned it on. It did admirably on the linoleum, but the performance on carpet was not good. The mouse goes through a pattern of different movements including some long, straight movements and shorter, zig-zag motions. It handles the carpet fine for the long movements, but for the zig-zags it just kinda wobbles back and forth. TBF, the toy is fantastic running on the linoleum sections of our house, but unfortunately our house is like 90% carpet so it's a bit limiting for us. Still, our cat likes it so we'll keep it. If you've got all hardwood or tile though, it should be a real treat for your kitty. One other note: There is a warning in the instructions that you should not let your pets chew or bite the toy. It's just about impossible to prevent a cat from biting, but after feeling the toy, I can see the issue. The material is sturdy, flexible plastic, similar to a flexible water bottle. A bite from a kitten probably wouldn't do much, but a large, adult cat could potentially bite through the material. And it definitely won't hold up to constant chewing no matter the size of your pet. ... show more

Our Skeeter loved this toy from day one! What we quickly found out though is that the toy rolls under furniture where he can no longer reach or access it THEN we have to search the house for it (no fun when you have two levels). Just be aware that if you have furniture that sits low you're going to have to seek out the toy (we do this regularly). It also doesn't work well on carpet...even the flat/low pile type of carpeting. I found the toy to be a bit expensive for the size but worth it because Skeeter enjoys it a lot and plays with it often. We've definitely had it for more than 30 days now and recently had to put one wheel back on. So far it hasn't come off again and no other problems (fingers crossed). If the company were to do an updated version I'd recommend putting in an alert when inactive after a time to allow pet parents to easily locate the toy. ... show more

While I ended up returning it, the item itself is fantastic is as described, and it’s just fun to watch going around the house, but my cat was not intrigued or amused by it. She refuses to play with it. I set it out tried to play with it with her and she looks at it and walked away on different occasions lol she just follows me around and ignores the mouse I think it moves too violent for her taste; she’s like “mommy this is clearly fake” ... show more

This product keeps my cat entertained but I do need to charge it daily. I will typically leave it on during the day and will be off by the early evening. By this time it’s usually almost dead and would need to be charged to use the next day for a full day.

The media could not be loaded. I was carrying this in my robe pocket and she sniffed it out and started pawing at my pocket. I put it away because it needed to be charged and she kept trying to open the drawer where it was. If I pick it up after the battery is depleted she meows at me like I've committed the gravest sin.... I got a KitiFish for her and while she was interested, it just didn't move fast enough for her so she never actually chased it - just watched it. This one makes her pounce, catch, carry it around. I had it charging and she tried so har dto get it off the charger and she bit through the charging cord (that scared me so I started charging it out of sight and when she's out of the room), When I first saw this toy, it was $30-ish so I didn't get it. Our cats were begging us for some mental stimulation through the workday so we decided to invest in some toys that could keep them occupied and allow them to play while we work. We purchased this based on a review list of best interactive toys on a website. Both of our boys like watching it but one is a little more prey motivated than the other and he loves this toy. Pros: *Zippy, and powerful. This thing zooms and man do they love running across the room to go get it. *It does little dances and stuff to mimic prey movement and my cats like that *The light really helps grab their attention and helps us find it. *Quiet - It makes noise, but it is not as loud as some of their other automatic toys Cons: *This is not as hands off as we hoped. This thing is CONSTANTLY zooming into places and getting stuck. Under the stove, under closet doors, under the couch, under the TV console, stuck under the table or in the sliding door blind slats. We have to get up adjust and usually it just gets stuck in ten seconds again. *It is hard to find when it isn't active. It is small and as previously mentioned it goes everywhere it is not meant to be. We have a routine now where we look in the blinds, look under the table, look under the counters, move the TV console and check under the couch every morning to find this thing. *The battery life is not great. We get about a half a day's play if we constantly have this thing running. *The cats can't really pick it up and toss it around like some of their other toys so even though they can stalk it I feel like they don't get the full predator experience. Not sure how this would work if made to be plushy, but I think it was a missed opportunity for it to not squeak. I think my cats would die and go to cat heaven if this thing squeaked like a mouse. ... show more

Our cat is a very mature sophisticated Siamese who does not play toys. We purchased this little USB mouse with the glowing tail. He follows this thing around for the whole hour, until the charge dies. It works like a Roomba Vac. It bounces off walls, flips over, to get out of trouble. One minute it's in my living room and the next minute its all the way in the dining room three rooms over. It goes very fast. one day it rolled down 17 steps to our basement and kept on going like it was nothing. I plan to buy another for when one is on charge. Our Buddy loves this toy, and also feathers on the fishing poles. That is it for toys for him. ... show more
