My dog doesn't really use them that much but she does use them some. Good product for the price. Foam with covering. Not a structural marvel. Kind of small- doesn't give a great height adv. Overall I would probably recommend for a dog that just needs a little extra leverage.

She used to claw her way up the bed, she can't jump well. It was shredding my sheets. I got these and it took some time to get her used to them, putting her on them and encouraging her to go up, the same thing down a few times. But now it's used by her all through the day. She sleeps on the bed thru the day or likes to go look out the window by the bed. She now doesn't hesitate to go do either. Actually had these over 2 years and they look brand new. This is the second side of these stairs I’ve had. The first week given to me by a friend whose dog wouldn’t use them. They use a poor quality of foam the stairs so eventually (and I mean within a matter of a few or even a couple of years) with very normal use by normal sized cats, the foam breaks down and they become less sturdy. I got this for my daughters room so our little dog can get on and off her bed per daughter’s request. We have one of the same style but a different, higher-end brand in our room already so figured it’d work great! It doesn’t - it’s like…miniature - the 4 steps are too short and small for our 10lb dog to climb onto an average height bed and she won’t use it unfortunately. Would work fine for a couch or other low-profile furniture though. ... show more

    • Two of my cats were having discomfort jumping down off of sofas.

I love the safety of this one especially compared to a hard plastic one I bought for our corgi when he had same problems as 2 of our older cats are now having. He refused to use it after first time because he couldn't get enough traction to keep from sliding, that's the main reason I chose this soft one with soft cloth cover. My 2 cats didn't have any problems and took to it after their first try! I guided them down the stairs the first time and they are choosing to use it to get both in and out of recliner n sofa every time! So it must be helping them with suspected joint pain issues. I thought the would only use it to get down, but they both like it so much that they're going both up and down with know trouble at all. It looks like it's made from material similar to a memory foam but much more structure. It's firmness does not/ has not yet smashed or squished down from all the use of 2 finicky cats always following me around when I leave the room. I could tell it would hurt their joints when they would stand for a little while after jumping to floor before coming on our routines! It also has never topped over from 2 pets using it. Must be designed to counteract the weight distribution. The first one I bought was at least twice the price and I was afraid of it falling over when he was on it. If he didn't get in the center it would start to lean. He wouldn't use it so thankfully we didn't have that problem.
