It took a couple minutes of work and patience to get the paint to reach the tips of both pens - the silver took about twice as long as the gold. The gold is a bit darker than I'd have expected, but both pens produce nice results. I got the silver one to dress up the edges of the numbers on my mailbox. The one difficulty I had is that the tips of the pens are very stiff. Even on a smooth surface, the tips don't glide the way I would prefer. The tips are slightly rounded, but a little more blunt than the product image. They do a good job wicking the paint once they're primed, though. I was working on a vertical surface, so the pen was pointed upward most of the time and performed fairly well. Overall, I would wish for a smoother-gliding tip, but otherwise these paint markers perform well.

These pens do what they say. They are paint, and they stick well to whatever you're using them for. I didn't like them for jewelry making, as the gold is brassy, the silver is a bit dark, and they weren't an even shiny cover. The cover is good and long lasting. They would be great for some art projects, but they didn't do much for me in jewelry making. They colors seemed a bit sparkly, for lack of a better description. I would recommend them for many are projects, but they weren't for me for what I wanted them for.

I bought this to fix a tiny strip of white trim on a pair of shoes where the red from the leather had bled into the white. The paint itself seems fine, but the process is that you have to shake the pen-like thing, leave it felt tip exposed to air (for a few seconds) and then pump it to prime the paint, and then it comes out. You better hurry, though, because you have about 15 seconds before it stops working and you have to do it again...and again...and again. I was about to get about a half inch at a time, and the trim was about 1/8th inch wide, so it was VERY poor distribution of paint. Took me about 45 minutes to do one shoe, so I capped it and planned to finish tonight. But...when I opened the "pen" I used yesterday, the paint had dried so it ripped the felt tip right out of the pen and made that one completely useless. It's a crummy product, and I'm guessing there's maybe a half teaspoon of paint in each of these. My suggestion: keep looking.
