  • APPLICATION: PereGuard is simple to apply. Just peel off the backing paper and apply the guard. The guard comes with a layer of marine grade adhesive that is pre-applied. Clean the surface, peel off the backing paper off the Guard and then apply the Guard. PereGuard works on thermoformed boats, fiberglass, rotomold plastic, aluminum, and many other materials.
  • DESIGN: PereGuard is made from durable PVC and has a smooth surface to reduce friction in the water. The adhesive is industry strength and works well in all environments. The guard is thin to prevent drag, and the edges are tapered to seal with the boat and keep dirt and grime away from the adhesive layer.

Description

Just purchased a brand new kayak or catamaran? Protect it with PereGuard. PereGuard is a easy to use protective guard that can be applied to your kayak in any location that will receive extra wear and tear. This strip is designed for outdoor use and will stand up to the most rigorous of abuse. The strip is easy to apply, and with a little heat can wrap around corners and edges. With heat the strip is also easy to remove. Sticks to fiberglass, thermoformed, ABS, and polyethylene (roto) kayaks. Note that this PereGuard is 4" wide. PereGuard is designed to have a low profile to prevent any resistance in the water and keep any added weight down, while also being very durable for protection. The extra width is great for larger kayaks and canoes, or catamarans. Also note that this product protects against accidental contact with rough surfaces. It will not allow you to drag it along the cement (we have had customers try that). Installation Instructions for this product are as follows - Clean the area thoroughly with a mild soap and water to ensure a clean surface, once the surface is dry remove the blue backing on the keel guard to expose the adhesive layer and apply the tape to the desired location - Enjoy!

I installed Pereguard 4” kayak guard on one of my kayaks, and love it, so I ordered an 18’ roll for my hobie PA 14. The PA 14 is heavy and gets keel rash from beaching. I cleaned the area with alcohol and a rag then went over it with the supplied alcohol wipe one last time. I cut my two strips and cut the backing paper of each right in the middle. That’s a tip - for long sections, work from the middle. I heated the strips a little with a hair dryer to make them more flexible, then taped one half in place. The other half, I worked from the middle, slowly, about 3 inches at a time. Pressing and smoothing as I went, and slowly pulling back a few more inches of backing paper. The install came out as clean as glass. This stuff is more durable than the plastic of the kayak, and is a sacrificial layer when you need it. Great product; highly recommend! ... show more

MY wife and I noticed some scuffs on the bottom of the pontoons on our New PBR 10eNXT after just one trip to the lake. Decided to get the Pereguard Keel Tape. We cut the 4 inch in half lengthwise and put it on the pontoon ridges where the scuffs were. This tuff sticks like crazy. Better have it positioned correctly before it hits the surface because it isn't going to come back off. Easy to follow instructions to clean and then apply. I highy recommend this for all plastic boats that get scratched up. It should greatly increase the lifespan of our 2 man bass boat. ... show more

this product does not bend to curves very well / to thick .....so wrapping the bow keel line is a major challenge ( the 1 area U need it most when beaching the boat).....but it sticks really good once on ......also, putting it on with the help of a heat gun proved advantageous. Apply slowly.. if u get a air bubble in it ...hard to get it out since it adheres so well and pulling it back off is difficult ... show more

I got this (and another 5ft section that I am returning) for the keel lines on my Ocean Kayak Prowler 13 and my old Necky Elaho. I put the 3ft section on the stern of the Prowler. The boxing and materials looked top notch. Used a hair dryer as suggested and did it on a warmer day in the sun. It went on very well and the adhesive stuck nicely. I left on the benches for a few hours and took it down, dragging it less than 3 feet (I measured) to put away. Turned it over to wash it off and noticed that the strip was highly scratched and actually fully worn through in one (v-shaped) spot. Yes: I put it on and the very first time I moved the kayak it scratched through the material essentially immediately. I'd be okay if this worn through over some time but used ONCE and worn through? No. Not even on for one full day and worn through? No thanks. I can't recommend this to other kayakers in good conscience and am going to try to get my money back. ... show more
