  • Best Kayak on the market!!
Color: Dapper
This kayak is very easy to maneuver. It is light weight which makes carrying much easier! I would highly recommend to anyone!!!

  • Stable, tracks well, fits my tall large frame
Color: Dapper
I fell in love with kayaking last summer while visiting a number of state parks with my daughter and this spring with most rentals shut down I decided to purchase my own. After much research I decided that at 6' 2", closer to 50 than 40, and though moving down close to 300lbs I would benefit from a sit on style kayak. I gotta say this one is perfect, its so comfortable to sit in, easy to get in and out of even after sitting for long periods, and plenty of room to stretch my legs out. All that said it still tracks nice, is very stable, and is easy to maneuver. After a couple times out I did add scupper plugs to keep my seat dry and would highly recomend that. The only downside is that it is a bit heavy, I can carry it around by myself (with some determination) but at least at this point can not load it on my suv by myself, though perhaps that will change with practice. ... show more

  • Perfect for someone new to kayaking and serious about fishing
Color: Dapper
Feel very safe in this kayak as a big guy (6ft & +255lb). Kayak glides easily through water and easy to maneuver (just make sure to spend extra for a really good paddle - definitely worth it). Seat is very comfortable, although sits a little lower than I thought it would. I’ve been on over half a dozen +3 hour trips and have have felt great sitting in seat with little discomfort. Not sure I’d feel comfortable standing in this kayak at my size. Really like the overall weight of kayak. I can easily lift and load this kayak to top of small SUV by myself with no problems. The only way to get a more stable kayak and slightly higher (comfortable) seat would require me getting a heavier kayak, which would be more difficult to load. I’ve looked at a lot of kayaks and think this is possibly the best one for this size and weight I’ve seen on market. ... show more

  • Foot braces. One missing. One broken.
Color: Dapper
We are very excited about using this great looking kayak. However, upon taking it out of the NOT-very-protective plastic and cardboard, we could only find one of the two foot braces that are supposed to come with it. It was broken in two. The other was entirely missing. The other frustrating aspect of this is, perhaps, in Amazon's own "Return or Replace Items" options menu. It simply doesn't include the option of keeping the MAIN item, and asking for a simple replacement part. Yes. I know. I DID click on the return item option, and then provided an explanation of what I really needed to be done, but I've not yet received any response from the seller. After spending a grand on an item, you'd think an almost immediate response wouldn't be asking too much. How hard would it be, though, to include "Part of item is broken or missing. Requesting replacement part," as a possible item return selection option? Clearly, though, without the foot brace, the kayak is only barely usable, but not at all usable for this mid-60s, out of shape attorney. ... show more

  • Love this boat
Color: Dapper
I've had several kayaks, both whitewater and recreational sit on tops over the past 45 years. This is probably the last new boat I'll ever buy so having owned 2 Perception whitewater boats years ago, I trust the brand and knew I'd enjoy the Pescador. I use it primarily for photography and trust it to carry me and my expensive gear on sometimes choppy lakes and rivers. I'm not an avid fisherman but plan to fish out of it occasionally too and it seems pretty well configured to do that with ease. I'm 6'0 tall, about 210# and find it comfortable for the 4-5 hours I usually spend on the water. If I could make one change, I'd like a slightly narrower seat back because my arms tend to rub against it while paddling. ... show more

Its an amazing yak. Best I've ridden on in a long while. No regrets purchasing this

  • Very comfortable fo a big guy. Very maneuverable. All my friends are jealous.
Color: MOSS CAMO
My only frame of reference is a rental kayak. This kayak is awesome, it steers great, it is very comfortable. I love the two position seat. I can't wait to get a fishfinder installed. The wear block on the backend is what sold me. I live next to the Eleven point in Missouri and there is alot of portaging on shoals and around log jams. I had read reviews stating that the rod holders were no good. I thought, a hole is a hole. Nope, they suck. They psition you poles perfectly for being knocked around by your paddle. I also ordered Red and was sent green, and Amazon changed my order well after it had shipped. But I like green better anyways. That was really a reseller/Amazon problem, no problem with the kayak besides the "what were you thinking" rod holders. ... show more

  • Not the best ocean fishing kayak - Get the pedal drive version
Color: Dapper
This is a pretty hull, the blue and black colors compliment each other well. It's got plenty of open storage and is fairly rugged. However, since it has no drive, hooking up with a big fish can lead to dicey situations if the fish runs to rocks. The lack of drive may not be an issue for lakes or ponds, but I find it to be a deal breaker for use as an ocean fishing kayak. I have a giant pedal drive I was looking for a cheap alternative for quick trips for, this paddle kayak wasn't the answer. For what it is, a simple sit on top kayak with few features and a cheap beach chair, it's over priced. The chair is laughable actually, it can be replaced with any of the generic ones you find at beach city drug stores, displayed for sale near the exit doors during tourist season. I would suggest that if you want a paddle kayak, anything in the sit-on fun/beach kayak category at the $300-500 range will work. If you want a fishing kayak, get the pedal drive version of this yak or another of your preference. I would not recommend this kayak for any purpose. ... show more
