In reality, if someone really wants your vehicle, they will get it. Your only option is to make it more difficult for them to steal. For the normal car thief who shakes door handles, shines lights inside, looking for valuables, this device will make them look for a different vehicle to steal from. The bright nylon wrap makes the device easily detectible by a thief. The metal cable stops those thieves who did not bring the heavy-duty tools with them. The device attaches to prevent thieves from starting the car a driving it away. With the device attached, a thief knows they will be unable to turn the steering wheel while driving. This is a nice departure from the large bar across your steering wheel. I do think it could be cut fairly easy but at least it’s a deterrent. Most criminals don’t want to take time since that gives them a better opportunity to get caught. This device does appear to be high quality and I do think it’s worth the cost, especially if you live somewhere car break ins and thefts are prevalent. ... show more

This steering wheel lock is a great design idea and is much more appealing than using those large bulky steel locks that go across the steering wheel. It’s much more compact and easy to store. The operation is very simple. Just loop the insulation cable around your steering wheel and click it to your seat belt receiver. The cable and sheath will prevent any damage to your vehicle’s steering wheel and interior. The cable seems to be very durable and will hold up to cutting and hammering. When you insert the key, you just turn and push and the pin will extend pushing on your seatbelt release button as shown in my pictures. The issue I have is with the locking core assembly. It feels very cheap and thin. I’m fairly certain that a couple strikes with a hammer or prying it with a large screwdriver will easily break the locking assembly. If a thief looks in the vehicle, this may deter them from trying at first glance, but if they have tools this lock will only delay them for a couple of minutes. ... show more

This is a cleverly designed steering-wheel anti-theft device. Unlike the "club" anti-theft devices, which are long, inflexible, heavy, and rather unwieldy, this is of a smaller size and "folds" a bit, which makes it easier to store when it isn't being used. The cables are heavy, and each is inside a sheath of plastic (pvc?), and the cable assembly is inside a fabric sheath. To use this you thread the cables through the steering wheel and attach the device to the driver's seatbelt receptacle. It locks into the seatbelt receptacle. This lock is very visible on the steering wheel, which could deter thieves. It snaps in place very quickly and easily and comes with three keys. (Definitely put them in a safe place.) Much easier then that club-like device that was popular a while back. The wire is a thin wire that could be easily cut with wirecutters, so I'm not sure if it will actually prevent a theft if the thief is well-prepared. I saw this steering wheel lock - which is a perfect visual deterrent to stop someone taking my car, and stops be worrying or have to play car Tetris to block my car in! I really like how easy this is to use. I also like the orange nylon cover over the steel cable that lets the bad guy know you've got a lock installed. What I wonder about is the plastic lock housing. It seems to be a weak point in my mind. Also, when I turn my car off, the seat goes all the way back, which makes installing this lock a stretch, but it does still fit. I actually do like it but gave it 4 stars because of the plastic. :O) ... show more
